Furnishing Recipe Praxis bug for Elsweyr item on PS4

I previously picked up the Elsweyr furnishing recipe for the Elsweyr Sarcophagus Lid, Ancient and when I later got the recipe Elsweyr Sarcophagus, Ancient recipe, the game says I already know that recipe. When I go to the enchanting crafting station, the sarcophagus itself is not listed. I am sure I have not picked up and used this recipe before. The game seems to not be able to distinguish between the two recipes because the names are similar. Had I not been taking screen snapshots of everything I learn due to a previous problem, I would have sold this recipe by mistake.

Here are the screen snapshots of the recipe that I have not learned but the game says I have, and what I can craft at the enchanting crafting station. The sarcophagus is not listed among the craftable items, but the lid is.

Please note that I did use the recipe for the lid so that information is correct.

I have this same EXACT problem on PC/NA- I have the pattern for the lid, but when I got the pattern for the Elsweyr Sarcophagus, Ancient it claims I have used it, even though I don't have the ability to craft it nor do I see it under my crafting menu at the enchanting table. All that's there is the lid. It's a little annoying because I too almost sold my pattern only to realize I don't have it and can't apply it!

Ah, I did mention PS4 but forgot to specify NA server, though I suspect it occurs on all platforms and servers.

It looks like they didn’t specify enough characters in the recipe name string compare to tell the difference between the two.

I have had similar problems with other Alinor recipes, and they have all been enchanting praxis.

I can explain what happened if you care to know, won't solve the problem but you can see what they did.

The very first days after release I've seen those two plans were "inverted", bear with my bad english, if you did learn the Lid you were able to craft the Sarcophagus and if you did learn the Sarcophagus you were able to craft the Lid.

As soon I have realized that, I bough the other one in real a hurry because I was worried ZOS would have patched this problem so well, I see wasn't mistaken.

Back then in fact you were able to learn the other one with no problem, so the issue has been "fixed" very badly, if you now are encountering this.

I'm sure they will patch again (this time around I hope in the good way), the question is when, they aren't always fast. So you may tag someone in the thread.

@katanagirl1 Which alinor recipes are giving you trouble? Maybe we can get them fixed in this thread too. I'm concerned about the alinor ones because I regularly try to farm for them. hate to think I've sold something off I didn't actually have! ><

@ArchangelIsraphel , it was the Alinor Column, Timeworn and Alinor Column, Slender Timeworn. I picked up the slender one first then the other one, and when I learned the Alinor Column, Timeworn I could not craft it.

Also had trouble with the Alinor windowbox. I am not sure if it was the blue one or purple one. I learned it but could not craft it.

Eventually I picked up another one of each of those recipes and was able to craft. There was another thread on here about possibly learning the recipes too quickly one after another might have been the problem there:

At least one other person noticed the same bug and started that post.

I submitted a ticket for each but they were closed without me getting those recipes back.

So there's more to the story for this sarcophagus lid. I used the recipe, the crafting station says I can craft it, (it also says I know the sarcophagus itself but that is separate and incorrect), but also when I saw the same recipe at a guild trader today this is what I saw:

So there is something really messed up about this whole thing. I don't even know what's going on. Why does the recipe I used say that I haven't used it???

@katanagirl1 Thank you for listing the ones that are bugged for you- this makes me wonder if more are bugged that we don't know about. It seems I'm also experiencing the same issue with the Timeworn columns. In general on the enchanting table, it appears that I have less recipes than I know I picked up, especially when it comes to alinor furnishing peices.

I really hope ZoS will fix this for us. It's such a shame to have all of these nice recipes that are expensive and to be unable to even make them after we've learned them

So far, the only “fix” is to get all of the affected ambiguous recipes eventually and learn them. If I end up finding the one listed at the trader above on my own, I will try to use it and see if I am able to craft everything. I’m not in a hurry to buy it just to check it out.

I know this is low priority given everything else they are dealing with right now, but it has been going on for a while now. Housing is my big thing that I spend almost all of my time on, farming endlessly for recipes so I’d like to get it fixed too.

All the info in this thread does as much debugging as I can without actually looking at the code, so I feel like I’ve done a lot of work already for them.

I had this happen with the blueprint for Hlaalu Footlocker, Secure. I learned the blueprint, then when I crafted one, the item suddenly disappeared from my woodworking station. When i checked another of the same blueprint (at a guild store) it showed that it was already known. I had the item on preview and it just blinked out of existence and went to another item (an argonian sturdy post). It was weird. I need to make a few more, so I put in a support ticket. Haven't had it resolved yet.

These are rare, pricey items. I know I spent a lot of time searching, writ vouchers, gold etc. to get this furnishing plan. Some are in the hundreds of thousands to buy from guild traders if you can find them. In my case, it doesn't even matter that I was able to find another one because I can't re-learn it. @ZOS_GinaBruno

Btw I'm on PC NA so not just a PS4 issue.

EDIT: Issue has been resolved.
