Friendly Fire Option in Groups

Me and a few of my friends mainly have fun in games by f***ing around, messing with each other, screwing each other over and generally having a laugh and a big part of this is friendly fire, killing each other in games like PUBG etc.

And recently I've been trying to get them into ESO and one of them brought up the idea of friendly fire and how it makes messing around in a game more fun.

Obviously this would have to be controlled so people couldn't grief with it or abuse it. But it could be easily implemented using a group vote, the same way you vote to kick someone in the group, you vote to start "friendly fire" exclusively in the group. If everyone (or majority whichever) votes for it then the group has friendly fire enabled, working the same way as 2 players dueling but involving every player in the group.

Doing stuff like hitting a mate with a Piercing Javelin on the top of a cliff and sending them to their death or similar would just add a lot of "fun factor" to messing around with friends.

Thoughts?

    Dueling or Cyrodiil or Battlegrounds.

Although in the latter not sure if you can pick the opposing teams.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

That would be hilarious, but only with full acceptance of the group, I think. I do same the kind of shenanigans with my friends. Pubg and gtaO were a lot more fun because of that. "Oopsie, dropped a (BOOM) grenade. Sorry." Stupid but fun if the group has the right kind of humour for it.

I don't think enough would be interested in this for it to be considered by the development team.

How to turn friends into enemies with just one vote!

(to many AOEs in this game.. it wouldn't be viable)

If I was pugging a dungeon and a vote to enable friendly fire came up, I'd vote no. If the vote cleared anyway, I'd port outta the dungeon. I'm not about to totally change my selection of skills and rotation to account for friendly fire. And how would that even work in a dungeon? No AoE at all near the boss for fear of injuring the tank while he's bearhugging the boss? Nope.

Imagine if friendly fire was on, all those 40 people zergs would kill themselves when they all drop ultimate on 1-2 players.

    Actually this sounds kinda nice

They tried this is in an fps shooter game back in the day, on the old OGN servers. Needless to say, we lost all its casuals and the elites that made the decision destroyed the game and the server. All under the guise of 'this game is too easy, lets make it harder'. It was harder to find any bugger that wanted to play under those rules. Had to go with the US servers and high ping and deal with spam. No thanks

This would actually be hilarious, and a lot of fun. The key word being ‘optional’ so no one is forced into it. This would take drunken raids to a whole new level. On the condition that group heals are still enabled.

    Indy approves!

Feels like everyone who is shouting NO didn't read the OP. It would be an OPTIONAL group feature that the group would have to UNANIMOUSLY vote for. Meaning it wouldn't just be switched on out of the blue if someone doesn't want it.

People talking about it in dungeons with PUGS? What? Why would a group of Pugs ever agree to switch it on in the first place?

It would just be something great for people who are friends IRL and can handle screwing each other way

My thought is to have it as a party type instead of a toggle. With certain friends, I enjoy the shenanigans when I know that's the style it will be.
Being invited to participate under the guise of anything else and having "miss prankster" want to toggle it mid battle for a laugh is something that wears thin too quickly.
I did find myself in a meaningful relationship with someone I met during such shenanigans if that inspires others to try to let off some steam together (that was decades ago though when "crazy internet ladies" hoarded cats instead of assault rifles)

Nothing like an Archer or a Mag dps burning through their own healer cause of LoS now just to land skills and attacks on boss, cause moving just a smidge too hard.

I would suggest aoes not useful and dots have lower duration and as well as all damage from Friendly Fire being a considerably less than a fly not something that killem just something to have a little fun when in an dungeon with full facts in open world

Oh, I understand, but as I read through, I just pictured a frustrated DPS not wanting to move from their ratnest and just unload everything into their healer just so they can hit something cause moving can be hard sometimes lol.
