[Dungeon Gear Drops] Too hard to get weapons?

Was it bad RNG that I kept getting set body armor pieces in Wayrest and Crypt of Hearts, or is it normally stupidly hard to get set weapon drops?
If it's the latter, how come it hasn't been tweaked?

    Weapon drops only happen on final bosses, and final bosses' loot tables are split between jewelry and all weapon types so you aren't even guaranteed a weapon drop from the final boss. it makes for a very grind-y experience trying to farm a specific weapon type for a specific set. I really wish they would adjust dungeon loot tables.

    RNG is sooo fickle.
    First run of Vet ICP I got leeching shield from a mob, two days later plague slinger and jorvuld shields from mobs in the same run, and those are items i've tried to get in i don't know how many runs previously.

    If you are after Leviathan weapons, (specifically daggers), do norm COH2. The spider boss has a named dagger drop that is, IME, frequent.

    You will need a partner, as she does a entrap move that requires someone to use a synergy to free you before you die.

    I did, and i farmed it, even though i cheated cause double drops, tzogvin daggers on the other hand... But it is rng, i guess, and i f***ing hate that rng

    The grind sucks but you can always do it on normal to speed it up.

    Not to forget that we can now trade gear with those in our group increasing the chance of getting the weapon 4x or trait change since that increases the change by 9x.

    Also, open chests. Weapons used to drop only off the last boss in a dungeon and competed with jewelry. I think they increased the drop chance overall in the dungeon in the past couple years.

    Transmutation made weapon farming easy.
    Look for named drops. Each boss has chace to drop spesific equipment.

    Would be nice if, for example, hard mode of vet dungeon would drop a token of random set this dungeon provides - then you'd be able to trade that token for an exact weapon you need (i.e. destro, 1h, 2h, etc.) with a random trait and random type (i.e. frost/fire/lightning, axe/dagger/sword, etc.) form, lets say, undaunted guys. That way there would be reason to go and try hm even without pledge, there will be less frustration, and there still will be some randomness to it.

    That idea of the token is a great idea.

    Someone said in the forums one day that your probability of geting an specific weapon in Crypt of Hearts was 3% he mentioned the loot tables or something like that, so keep trying I given up on getting a maul and go with the axes that drop (as some said the weapons, exept named, just drop from the final boss).

    What drops a lot is the named weapons if you can do with that.

    If you keep doing the dungeon on pledges you eventually will get what you want just use something else from the same familly till you get what you want.

    Their jobs as devs/managers of an MMORPG is to keep you playing as much as possible. That's why it can take days or weeks just to get enough gold to improve jewelry from blue to purple and then gold. It's why it takes days or weeks to earn anything valuable. And in the case of a perfected asylum staff or maelstrom staff it can take much longer than that. I doubt they will ever make it take less time/effort to get this gear. If they do, people who did the grind will complain that other people have it easier now. And people will complain that best gear is too easy to get.

    It's not entirely sinister though.
    If you make something TOO easy, it starts to devolve toward "press button - complete quest".
    For something to actually be a GAME that gives you some sort of satisfaction for your time (whatever that type of satisfaction is), you have to perform tasks. For some people, performing those tasks well (e.g., getting through vet trials, etcetera) or repeatedly (e.g., PvP BGs over and over) IS the satisfaction.

    This is why RMT is really very self-defeating for people who use the service. From the get-go they spend money, get lots of gold, buy everything they need... and suddenly they have nothing worthwhile left to do.

    Games like LOA2 know their player base very well and they focus your time on what really matters. You click on the mob and the game calculates win/loss instantly. That way, you can instead focus your time on building your team, instead of grinding through button-mashing combat. (Which you can still do if you insist since you can watch the automated fight and intervene at any time)

    The idea of tokens is basically trying to secure some form of guaranteed progress toward your goal instead of possibly never progressing at all. SWTOR got huge backlash for this sort of thing and in their upcoming overhaul have stated clearly that although RNG is a big factor, there is a mechanic where you can steadily move toward exactly the item you want.

    The moment u get to the point where u can farm them, u usually already have what u need
