Can't stand still

I started attending trials very late in this game, after developing the "always on the move" muscle memory because of PvP and vMA. Now I can't stand still in trials when the group is supposed to stack. People complain. I sometimes begin the fight standing still, trying to remind myself not to start moving and after a minute I just find myself jumping around again. This affects my dps. Even equipping Siroria didn't work. How can I let go of this habit without having to unbind WASD?

I have exactly the same problem, also due to pvp and its why I currently stay away from pve. Would love to know if there's a way to learn how to focus more.

You could try lifting your hand off the keyboard?
Not sure theres really much of a trick to it. Just keep telling yourself 'dont move unless you have to'

It's like with any bad habit; keep reminding yourself to not move. It'll go away eventually. The more reminders you have (for example outside people keeping an eye on you) will make the process quicker.

You could try changing the key bindings on your movement keys. Move them away from where your muscle memory thinks they are.

You could try having more mental control. What are you, six?

Don't mean to sound abrasive, but damn just have some self control man!

It's a muscle memory thing, I don't think self control has much to do with it. I need a lot of hard focus and self control at work and I'm doing excellent there. So this must be something else.

    i'm circling w d s a or just some a d a d

there is just nothing left to do wuth left hand

when you have a decent gaming mouse

and playing with one hand in pve is just braindead mode

Same problem. I'm used to years of thoroughly telegraphed fast combat and that does not help: standing still turned quickly standing in red and dying. I know this is not the same game but moving around is a reflex.

Same. I move all the time. Even when fighting simple NPC's. It is a PvP thing for sure. I have never had the constant movement be a problem though. Then again, I have never ran a trial in this game.

Given that in pretty much every piece of other PvE content this is something the game teaches you It’s become a habit of mine as well. It keeps me alive in pretty much every vet dlc dungeon and isn’t just a good way to avoid damage. I don’t dance around and run mobs away or anything I’m just always on dat maelstrom shuffle. But hilariously enough you could always do what the guy above me said XD
