Yes we did. And they aren’t doing that. They’re releasing a giant zone full of quests.
However you cannot see that releasing a zone of quests and releasing no new content and focusing on fixes are not one and the same, absolutely baffles me.
Go play Skyrim if you want to quest.
In addition to the new DLC game pack, we are also launching a massive base-game patch, free to all players, that features the first wave of the previously announced performance improvements. This first batch of changes includes a memory management overhaul, the first phase of combat ability performance improvements, and a complete redesign of the Looking for Group system.
These changes will reduce the amount of crashes/dashboarding, improve combat responsiveness, and improve the reliability and speed of the Group Finder. We know that the ESO community has long requested a performance update, so we are thrilled to launch the first part of what will be a massive, year-long series of improvements with Update 24!
Looks like an improvement (assuming it works) and we asked for it. I don't see the issue. On top of that they even communicated.
No, I'll quest here, thanks.
Funny how he's not responding to this; the "focusing on fixes" that he says isn't a part of this update ("they aren't doing that.").
But, facts are hard for some people to grasp, I guess.
How hard is comprehension? We asked for an entire update of just performance fixes. Nothing else. That’s what he was referring to. The fact remains, that is not what happened with this DLC, so as for them “doing what we asked” in regards to dedicating an entire quarter to performance and QoL, it’s objectively false. They released an entire zone full of quests. It should not need any explaining, but I will dumb it down for you and others who apparently cannot understand elementary logic, Releasing an a DLC with entire zone full of quests + some performance fixes =\= releasing a DLC if only performance fixes and QoL additions.
Seriously, some of the people on these forums need brush up on their comprehension skills, they are abysmal.
You should probably be first in line with the whole reading comprehension thing.
Also, this release is following every DLC Q$ drop since 2016 like it was stated above by someone else, why do you think this model would change and did you know that this was the model that ZOS has used or do you not pay attention to things that have been done in the past with this game.

Yet another case of someone on the forums who has absolutely zero idea what they’re talking about, spew absolute nonsense and spread misinformation.
2018 Q4 we had Murkmire, which included a new 4 man arena.
2017 Q4 we had Clockwork city, which included a mini-trial.
How is 2019 Q4 which includes no new endgame content following the same model?
Extremely disappointed endgamers get completely left out of this one. Hopeful for the performance improvements but you can only run the same old instances so many times. Hard pass.

Nothing to see here folks. Though the very premise of the opening post just about made me burst out laughing with how ridiculous it is.
kathandira wrote: »Seriously? Is ZOS really wasting an entire DLC on one huge zone just for quests? Something that can literally be released for a single-player game, you’re calling a DLC for an MMO?
Legit, not a single bone for PvE or PvP? I think you guys have done an amazing job at making it abundantly clear who you cater to @ZOS_GinaBruno. Enjoy losing the last of the Endgame community with no new content for another 6 months.

Wait, you do realize with Murkmire they didn't say anything about BRP in the initial DLC release either right? But we still got BRP, so there's that.
There's nothing really ridiculous about it. The OP is frustrated because ZOS isn't providing good content for all types of players. Players they've actively marketed the game to over the years. They're catering only to the lowest common denominator. It's a race to the bottom.
ESO was supposed to be more than this. It was supposed to feature epic PVE and PVP.

I am max CP. I've been playing for close to 3 years. I have 100% all zones and maps with the exception of Cyrodiil and IC. Are you telling me I'm not an endgamer because I enjoy quests? If so, I beg to differ. I AM an endgamer. I'm not sure what your definition is, but I am certain there are more players in ESO like me than like you, which makes us the majority.
A company making products to please the majority of their customers is called smart business.

If they had enough staff to do both I’d be able to actually see adds spawn in trials, cyrodiil wouldn’t lag, my client wouldn’t crash, and a host of other things that need not be named.
However you cannot see that releasing a zone of quests and releasing no new content and focusing on fixes are not one and the same, absolutely baffles me.
Go play Skyrim if you want to quest.
They have enough staff to do both.
If you want PVP only, play OverWatch or Fortenite
They released 1 trial this year and 4 end game dungeons. If that is not enough for you go play WoW
Try again bud.
If you want to quest go play Skyrim, or Oblivion, heck one of the many single player RPG games out there. This is an MMO and should be treated as such.
Hallothiel wrote: »I was serious - please define ‘endgame’ as I have no idea what it means.
Have played since 2015, have oodles of max level characters, do vet dungeons and trials, enjoy playing pvp (badly) and have a housing addiction - and also love questing, so looking forward to the next dlc.
But apparently that’s me being rubbish and ‘casual’ 🤣🤣

ESO gameplay has devolved to a point where it's hardly a game anymore. There is no problem solving. Wear anything, use anything, press any buttons and win the fight. Don't understand the rules? Don't know how to play? Don't worry, it doesn't matter. Zzzz.
ESO was supposed to be more than this. It was supposed to feature epic PVE and PVP. There are massive audiences for games like that. Games that do those things well make billions. ZOS just gave up and took the easy way out. The remaining players who are negatively impacted by this are entitled to post what they think of that.
