What is Visible When a Pet Sorc Hides?

If I am in the Imperial Sewers and hide with my pet sorc (pets out) and crouch to hide, what can someone from another faction see?

I was concerned mostly that they would see my pets floating around. Being completely hidden is good.

As long as you see "HIDDEN" you & your pets are hidden.

Not always true, the pets dont always vanish to the enemy. I have seen the clanfear running around with an invisible owner multiple times.

There was a bug during beta (which was hilarious btw.) but i haven't seen that in the 5 years since PC launch.

I have mistaken pets from allies as enemy pets though ...

99.9% of the time, the pet is hidden. That .1% of the time it fails, is rather funny.

I can confirm that the pets don't always become properly stealthed together with the owner.

Back when I was still running a petsorc in PvP a couple months ago, several times I ran into a situation where I'm hidden and enemies don't even know that I'm in the area, and then one or more enemies start running straight in my direction and proceed to spam AoEs.

Then it occured to me that the pets are probably not beocming invisible sometimes, and I started unsummoning them when moving around in stealth - and that solved this little problem.

Your pets give you away, whether intended or not idk..I’ve been called a hacker for following someone‘s pets to them multiple times

Thanks for the confirmations. I was hiding in a cross swords boss spawning area earlier and the gankers did not seem to see me, so I assumed they didn't see my pets. It was near some caged daedra though, so that also could have helped.

Even if your pets stay hidden, they can still cause problems, such as engaging with a patrolling boss while you're trying to evade it. No, Flappy! No, Clanny! Bad pets! Oh, noes!

It works as on players. If you will be hidden bit pet will be in range of that skill it will be revealed, so someone can take a tip where are you and then reveal you. Pets have it's own hidden status.

Everything is invisible. Maybe that is the next thing to nerf hey? Make it so pets don't hide and run around pointing their fingers towards their master so the enemy can dispatch us a bit sooner. Oh and while you're at it ZOS, make the flapper 200% bigger.

Are you sure that one of them wasn't using an invisibility potion or the Sentry set? Sentry set allows you to see all stealthed enemies for 10 seconds. As far as I can tell there is no range on this set either, as I have seen stealthers on a gate house of a keep when I am up on the wall over the Siege Merchant stairs. So its pretty much as far as your PC can render, you can see gankers and NBs running away. This might not be the case, but its something people should be aware of.

I was never taken out of HIDDEN status before the enemies started just running straight at me, whereupon I was actually detected by them getting close to me, or by their AoE spam.

And right before that, I was moving around a lot while being constantly stealthed for over a minute, so I'm quite positive the enemies could not have been aware of my presence.

It is possible that somehow, one or both of the pets had become detected by the patrolling NPC guards, while I stayed hidden due to being out of range.
I had always presumed that the stealthed status of the pets and owner is linked both ways, but apparently that's not the case.

That was the next possibility I would entertain, I know on my pet sorc, its usually NPCs giving away my position.

Pets aren't allways hidden. I think that if you stumble on them, they get detected but their owner is still stealthed. I've had a situation in BG when I was sneaking with my Twilight to get the relic. An enemy player started attacking my pet, while I sneaked right next to him, took the relic and killed him.

You made me laugh! I guess you're being serious, not sarcastic, since you seem to want the pets to give away the sorcs. But the pets are a huge pain in the ass as it is, because they're always interfering with my ability to interact with things. I always dismiss them as soon as I'm done with them, because they're so gosh darn annoying.

Just another tip about invisibility: Wardens, when you use your netch ability and go invisible, the netch stays visible. I've seen some people who didn't realize that and were trying to ambush me but I saw their netch baby. It was hilarious.
