My perspective of IC event

I think that's a silly statement. Anyone who can't handle ganking, camping, bombing, or zerging isn't going to become a PVPer. At most, they'll come for the event rewards and leave.

The ones who actually become PVPers are the ones who like PVP for what it is, ganking, camping, bombing, and zerging included, because those are allowed, intended, and encouraged tactics in PVP zones.

We should definitely camp base gates and smash them all coming out, that will certainly encourage people. You've changed my mind.

Nice sarcasm. Also, not what I'm arguing.

As much as you might wish otherwise, camping is an allowed, intended, and encouraged tactic in PvPvE zones.

Personally, I think preparing players for that and teaching them how experienced PVPers deal with that is a far better way to help new players adjust to PVP than futily telling PVPers to "go away and stop being mean" when "mean" is an allowed, intended, and encouraged tactic. Teach a man to fish and all that.

If players can't handle the fact that enemy players camp, they aren't going to become PVPers. Not becuase they've been driven away by the evil meanies, but because they simple can't handle how PVP is intended to be played in ESO.

^oi lads dont bicker about petty things. if it gets kills and is viable people will use it, thats the whole game, even if the tactic is sad. this post wasnt made for this lol. when you step into a pvp zone you know what to expect, simple as that.

Sorry, didnt see this till after I'd posted my reply.

I quite agree with your statement here, and I'll do my best to simmer down the bickering.

The event has been great imo

    - Cyro NA PC cleared out so I got to finish my Cyro fishing in complete peace.
    -
    - Ran vICP for the first time in forever- still a fun dungeon.

    - Joined a few groups and ran through the sewers and got into some great fights along the way to the centre and then pushing blue and yellow sewers. PvP locked in tunnels and rooms is a unique beast and really different from Cyro. Great.

    - Ended up with about 10k more Telvar mostly from AD and DC players lol.
    -
    - finally finished off the last two sewer bosses - I think they’ve been nerfed hard because I could solo them :) Doing PvE with the constant threat of PvP attack brings back a sense of danger and challenge that is now sadly lacking in over world PvE.

    - got enough event tickets for the soul shriven skin

All good - way, way more fun than I was expecting.

Organized small-scalers are the actual banner bosses of IC, change my mind.

Players are almost always more dangerous than the NPCs. I just wish more people queuing up for IC prepared accordingly.

This is true. Fortunately for those who are not really interested in PvP they have the option to do the dungeons. However, they are missing out on an experience that would be enjoyable if done correctly and from a good perspective.

My perspective is this. IC can be fun but often is the single most frustrating part of the entire game. And this holds true even for people who've been here before and who have done pvp before.
Now imagine if someone only got the dlc now - those people are going to come off with a horrific impression of the game.
So my view of this event is going to be that it has a high risk of ending up as a PR nightmare. Because a lot of people won't remember the fact that they got the DLC for free as strongly as they will the "fun" they had in it. Because that's how people do.

Finally some good vibes instead of all the crying about "these mean PvPers ruined my PvE immersion. :)

I just wish the IC event was twice a year like they planned with Midyear Mayhem instead of once a year.

I think there is a lot of truth to this. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it moving forward.

Sadly, that's the sort of thing folks like Varanos don't quite get. Hence we end up with counterproductive events.

Not that many PvPers left that we can afford to alienate potential new ones straight off the bat.
