Vampire Drain - Change ultimate morph to add range

Myself, I just find it annoying that if you want to take Vampire or Werewolf, they are best suited for melee toons. Vampire's drain is essentially useless if you're ranged. So my proposal is to allow some flexibility on Vampire's side to allow more customization for the other so ranged characters can also benefit from vampire to its full extent. And its simple, change the recover ultimate morph to add 21 range during the night, making it a ranged spell.

    I would have to agree with you. At the moment , the vampire drain skill has a very short range , so you pretty much have to be up close and personal with your target if you want to take advantage of the ability.

    There is another thread with regards to this skill , since it has some other issues as well , but to put it in one response , the skill would need the following :

    - increased range , like you suggested , but not only at night , it should be a default setting
    - allow the skill to be used on all NPCs , including boss level mobs , make the bosses immune to the CC , but leave the damage and heal
    - allow the drain to be used multiple times on the same target , make the skill add a buff , on the target , for about 10-15 seconds , in which time you can't drain that person again
    - make Drain and Feed , 2 separate abilities , so if you fed on a target , you can also drain it ( not sure if this has been suggested before or not , i just thought that the limitation was a bit annoying )

    Id rather have the recovery effect of devouring swarm as its a key part of my build.
    On the other hand if you talking about the draining regular ability I agree that a range increase could help but I still wont choose it over the ultimate recovery

    No, I like my ultimate recovery, don't take away my favorite toy just because you don't have one of your own. Just increase the range of the spell baseline I'd also like to add the suggestion that instead of allowing drain to be used twice, just apply a debuff to the target reducing their damage done and movement speed/snare for the duration of the fight, it's hard to fight and move when you've just lost who knows how much blood.

    The range is fine it a high damage low cost high resource gain ability that should involve some increased risk.

    Perhaps in PvE, but what about PvP? Drain is bugged as it is, trying to drain people in PvP is next to impossible unless you stun them first, so you can actually hug them in order to drain them. The skill at least needs a 10 / 15 meter range.

    dragonknights needs to close up in to deal damage as do just any warriors... as for mage you know better then to just go against them head on without stealting on them first and that's where your opening is.
