Class Weapons

I wanted to purpose my idea of Class Weapons and see what the community thinks.
(Some ideas that friends have purposed)
- Buffs a class skills power
- Additional effects to a class skill.
- Changes the skill into a entirely new one.
- Class weapons come in all weapon types and effects differ to weapon type
- Earning said class weapons could be through something arena based
- Earning weapons could be connected to dungeon queue role (Role currently playing as = Weapon that could drop)
- All weapons effects would work with stamina/magicka and scale based off max stat.
Do you like the idea? Hate it?

    I like the idea but...
    I like the idea but.... I play Magden and you know damn well they'd choose Natures Grasp or something useless as the skill that gets effected by the weapon. :D

    Your nerf suggestion is dumb. Learn to counter other players instead of having the game rebuilt to your ability level.

    Instead of one cliff racer... we can send a AOE Flock haha

    I like the idea though I'd prefer they introduce a legendary weapon system similar to the one LOTRO had and implement your suggestions in that context.

    Hate is a strong word, I would rather say I dislike the idea. I'm afraid this could turn out like Diablo 3 where certain sets buff a single skill to absurd levels. We already have a set like that, Oblivian's Foe, which increases the damage of Soul Trap and the result is quite strong.

    I think unique weapons are cool. Where skills change from equipping the weapons so more of those. Way more of those!

    ...I doubt they'll ever introduce such a mechanic at this point. It would be pretty cool though and make classes unique again.

    They introduced the Artifacts in Cyrodiil. With all the complaints of class identity, this might be something worth exploring.

    I like the idea but...
    I love the concept but would worry a lot about balance. Altering weapon abilities has some inherent level of balance since everyone can access those abilities, even if they synergize a little better with some classes than others.

    With a class ability altering weapon you have to take in to account not only each class with respect to each other, but intraclass balance as well.

    If you alter an ability, does it affect magicka and stamina morphs equally?

    What about healing and utility morphs?

    Does the bonus for one class only help them heal better but the bonus for another helps with DPS? Is it good to further emphasize one class as a healer and the other for damage?

    Some DPS abilities only have magicka morphs. Is it fair to make ability altering sets that completely ignore stamina builds?

    I'm not saying that it can't or shouldn't be done, just that it would be far more complex to balance and balance had always been an issue in ESO.
