People like me are looking forward to this mass invasion of inexperienced players. We will kill you and take half your tel-var before you even know what happened. So to my fellow forum people, bank it before we get you.

And for those easy-picking non-PvPers (like me!) who want to go farming Tel Var stones in the IC-- as you start to amass any decent amount of TV, use the L queue to escape back to Cyrodiil every so often, deposit all of your TV in the bank, then take the L queue back into the IC for more farming. You might not get as much TV that way, since your TV multiplier will be reset each time, but at least you won't lose half of it or more to the vet PvPers.

It's a trap, buy it for free and you'll always be stuck with IC dungeons in the random dungeon finder even when ESO plus expires.

Tons of people are confused about simple things anyway. A lot of them won't have read the announcements at all and will be asking how to do the event when they don't own IC.
This way, ZOS gets to in-your-face the fact that they gave it to you free.

Well, the announcement says that it will be available for free "from now on (and for the foreseeable future)," which suggests that it might not stay free forever.

So if you don't already have it, be sure to "buy" it for 0 crowns, otherwise you may one day discover that it's no longer free.

And I assume that you should "buy" it even if you subscribe to ESO+, so that if you ever drop your ESO+ subscription, you'll still have access to it-- along with the base game and any other DLCs or chapters you'd bought.

No. Imperial race is not a part of imperial city DLC

Imperial City is only going to be free during the event time and they are going to do it every year thereafter it will be free during the event which suggests they will be giving all event DLC areas out for free during event time so everyone can partake

No. Imperial race is not a part of imperial city DLC

I meant the Digital Imperial Edition Upgrade.

Considering we just had the 'Osirium" DLC and its yearly event, and it was NOT marked down to free (a normal discount, yes, but not to ZERO) I wouldn't at all believe or even consider that this is now a "new standard" for DLC yearly events.

IC might be free right now for event because its older, because its not really a "DLC" full of content (nothing compared to other DLC's content IMO), etc. I don't know why, I haven't stepped foot in the place in years - lol.

But keep wishing it now means every other DLC will be "Free" during its yearly event. They absolutely aren't giving away all the other's DLC content for free once a year.

I suspect they made it free for the same reason they added Battlegrounds to the base game and made it possible to jump straight into IC without going through Cyrodiil, PvP has never been especially popular in this game and any additional barriers to players getting into that content just reduces the population and leads to complaints about dead maps/game modes.

Yeah, but these ones aren't that bad. And I say that as someone who pretty much avoids the DLC dungeons like the plague. If there were any DLC dungeons I don't mind having in randoms, it's these two.
