Lethal and Poison Arrow not allowing me to stealth

I play stamina nightblade using my main two abilities from the bow tree skill line. I start out with lethal arrow then follow with poison arrow. I have sent in multiple reports about not being able to stealth and I get nothing but crickets. They send the same message through email can i describe whats going on after I've already told them that after firing these two abilities or just one of them, it will not let me enter stealth. I have no dots applied to me and can be out behind a rock with no one around and it wont let me stealth. For example I fire lethal arrow on someone and have to stealth away due to large army coming and i cant stealth. I have to use all my magicka using cloak and pop a potion to keep magicka going and when I'm away and kneel to stealth it says detected over and over. Cloak works fine its the ability to actually kneel and stealth after using those abilities on the bow bar that wont let me stealth. Please for the love of God fix this crap. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_KaiSchober @ZOS_BillE @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_GaryA @ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_RyanM @ZOS_BrianWheeler

    Little messy to read..

You mentioned an incoming army, so you are probably referring to PVP. I'm also going to assume you didn't kill your target. If you are anywhere near the players, you aren't likely to be able to crouch stealth, as it's usually an out of combat thing. This also might be related to many other problems with being stuck in combat in general that prevent certain actions from being taken.

It might be possible to re-stealth if you gain far enough distance from enemies, crouch for stealth, and then use your cloak ability to force invisibility for a long enough period of time. At least, that has worked against NPC's in both PvE and PvP in my experiences.

You cannot dot someone then stealth/crouch it has been that way for a long time.

And only cloak will allow you to get dotted and remain undetected why that is still allowed who knows but far as offensive goes if your gona bow dot someone you better insta down them if your gona lethal arrow spam them till they start chasing you accept the reality you aren't gona be able to hide.

This is a mechanic that every player in the game who has tried to sneak/crouch gank someone on a class besides a nightblade has experienced.

As thus you cannot be dotted in crouch/sneak and be undetected soon as you eat a dot they see you till its gone so before you start assuming it is a bug and zos is ignoring you let it be known it is not a bug it is intended.

Zos probably doesn't want people to be able to dot others then reenter cloak/sneak and get away while a person ticks to death and tbh I agree with that concept now if your target dies you will be able to reenter sneak assuming you didn't hit anyone else.

Ofc since were on the subject of sneak/crouch and cloak and we just happen to be in a dot meta "IMO" cloak shouldn't suppress dots and allow the person who got dotted to be able to hide while they are actively being damaged you know kinda like how it is for everyone else who decides to use sneak/crouch

when you damage someone with a dot, everytime they recieve damage it will pull you out of stealth.
in my belief that is working the way it should.

Also, some dots people put on you will pull you out of stealth when they tic on you as well (entropy most common). I agree that is how it should work.

As for the OP, you can not have your cake and eat it too. If you are going to dot someone up, they have to have some way to find you, even for as brief a second as it is. Use cloak, get a bit more magicka, be mobile and you will be fine. This is coming from someone currently playing a dot stamblade. Don't be a glass cannon, there are many ways to drop a lot of damage while maintaining survivability.

Cloak and sneaking aren't supposed to be interchangeable, one is a general mechanic and the other is a class ability, at the very core of it's identity(especially considering being able to fear is nothing special anymore).

You can already reveal nightblades with any aoe, detect pots and reveal skills. If any dot applied also revealed it would kill invis cloak usage completely and everyone would be running dark cloak. The dot suppression is part of balancing out with the fact that the class has no purge and relatively weak self healing.

I'd imagine it can be pretty annoying to fight if you don't have any way of revealing in your build but there are plenty of ways to do it.

@Luminide by reveal skills I assume your referring to the magelight and revealing flare because we both know expert hunter or any of its related morphs cant reveal jack *** lol

While yes we can agree cloak has many counters we can also be a bit honest here and say cloak is still 1 of the strongest class mechanics in the entire game and when other classes are suffering from constant dot spam its kinda irritating to see nightblades get dotted then cloak away lol while everyone who doesn't have a reliable purge is either getting ticked down or stuck relying on a near by templar.

There used to be this concept called class balance and maybe ill catch *** when I say this but ...im not feeling a sense of class balance in this dot meta as a stamn warden considering blue betty is a magicka specific morph and while its free it only removes 1 negative effect.

Necros have some purge sure … at the cost of their own health makes sense? no not really imo sacrificing their own HP to purge a dot that can be spammed feels kind of dumb

sorcs hrmm while I don't play my stamn sorc much or a magsorc ever I don't recall it having a class specific purge

templars ah yes they have purges and they seem to work rather well and not for 7k magicka if I recall "no this isn't a nerf plar statement atleast not specifically" lol

DKs? hrmm don't recall them having a purge though once again been a while since I played one could be wrong.

nightblades while they don't have purges either cloak can atleast suppress the dot ticks and they can get away and try to heal up.

Now I noticed you mention class specific identity and the fear not being unique to nightblade anymore specifically but other classes have lost their identity also with no compensation and while yes im sure nightblades want to keep all their toys to them self that's great.

Keep in mind though not all the others still have that unique class mechanic that gets them thru tricky situations anymore and if zos wants dots to remain as they are now their gona have to do something either actually push out some class balance and give the other classes a way of actually dealing with dots.

If they choose to keep going as they are without balancing the classes who don't have such ways of dealing with damage over time effects considering how easily they can be reapplied then the few classes that do have ways of nulling dots should be brought in line with the rest of the classes.

And no im not referring to necro it may have a purge but a purge at the cost of its own health when dots can be instantly reapplied is a god damn insult to every player in the game who actually paid for the expansion.

That being said I expect people are going to disagree with me your welcome to naturally but lets be honest here when the classes aren't even remotely balanced.

In a meta where 2 classes out of 6 can deal with dots in ways 4 other classes are unable to achieve the same said effectiveness vs those same dots but yal still want to be "unique" and keep your toys for the sake of "class identity" when other classes are losing their identity and still have to worry about damage over time effects.

yup, they (ZOS) never fixed that crap, why should I be taken out of sneak or cloak when a Dot ticks on my enemy, the same thing with beast trap and the vice cannon of venom set, causes this crap, oh and double dot poisons as well. use straight direct damage abilities, this will help a Nightblade maintain the ability to cloak and sneak..

I have gotten tired of ZOS inability to fix stuff.. I have to work around it, which is getting to be a real pain with them constantly abilities over and over. Hey ZOS just STOP 🛑.

Everyone is saying when i apply a dot i cant stealth afterwards, well then why can my buddy that runs right next to me with the same setup able to stealth after apllying his dot. Also even after ive attacked and if not killed the target and the dot wears off, i can be a mile away and it still will not let me stealth

Poisoned snipe applies poisoned effect which is like dot. Also if you hit guard, you won't be able to stealth at all until that guard will "forget" about you.

@Stellarvorous Maybe I'm biased but I feel like nightblades have nothing else really going for it, if you were to generalize the "themes" of classes all you'd get for nightblades is being stealthy which goes out the window if cloak can't be used properly.

I understand your point of view though, cloak is a strong tool but atleast in my opinion a balanced one, and the notion that it should be altered just because the meta suddenly shifted towards it being more useful feels a bit wrong.

To be clear, I'm all for other classes getting methods of dot cleansing/suppression, this meta's been the least fun I've had playing in a while.

At the same time maybe everyone getting cleanses isn't the best thing for class identity when it comes to templars either, so maybe some nerfs to dots are in order so that it isn't the overwhelmingly preferable method of damage dealing and not everyone feel useless without purge.
