Light hearted pie or mudball throwing is fine. However, harrassment is not acceptable. Also, mudballing is commonly done to look down upon someone. In a guild I left, several people there talked about how they would throw mudballs at people who they thought were "beneath them". Like throwing feces on swine. I thought that wasn't common but then I kept seeing it from people. I used to laugh when I was mudballed. Now I get irritated.

I tend to save mine for the most annoying members of the role playing community.

Got no problem with role players in general but take your erotic role play into one of your houses not in the zones.

And if some idiot role playing a Dark Elf, starts annoying my Argonian they will get a pie in the face. Same thing happens if an Argonian bothers my Dark Elf.

The pies and mud balls are generally cheap enough in guilds stores, if you feel like throwing em back at the idiots, trouble is they move off so fast so I often hit an innocent bystander

Pie-tossing is a great way to wait for a trial to begin. If you're getting pied in Belkarth, that might be me.

And seriously, spare me the "harrassment" argument. Getting a digital pie tossed at your toon, giving you a 5 second animation of being covered in goo, isn't much to complain about. It's not like t-bagging, which implies sexual assault. It's not hate-whispering, which is actual harrassment. I'm sensitive to the whole "griefing" argument. But tossing pies/mudballs is completely harmless. Prove me wrong.

I'm so old that I remember when in the early 1980's, Video Home System (VHS) and Betamax briefly battled for which would be the prevalent Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) format. It turned out that while Betamax was technically superior, VHS won out and became the standard VCR format.

It was similar to the HD DVD / Blu-ray Disc battle of the early-mid 2000's, with the latter winning out.

whilst there were more stick flicks on VHS, that wasn't the reason the format won out. It's just Beta was too expensive as a format in comparison. Beta was capped at 2hrs on a tape, whereas VHS could hit 4hrs. Also Beta was 2 to 3 times the price for a quality difference that whilst was good, didn't justify the money.

ahh mudballs i haven't done that in a while. might dust off the old pouch and have some fun i say. was almost as fun as getting out your jubilee cake right on the bank door entrance in Rawl... and sit back and watch people eating cake instead of entering the bank as intended

I was being a bit /sarcastic in that post and didn't mean anything negative, all is well my friend, no worries and apologies if it came off otherwise. Btw, yes you can still get the achievement outside of the festivals. From memory, I think you have to throw 10 Pies at players that are in a different Alliance. So pie away! If you need someone to throw them at, I will volunteer!

If it was pushed far enough in excess, I wouldn't think a ban would be out of the question. I think the moral here is to be moderate in your pie and mudball adventures, and especially refrain from targeting someone. Common sense. There is even this from a few years back from a player that apparently pushed things a bit too far and ZOS took action:

Incidentally, I can’t hear the splat of a mudball without also hearing, “Control your people, Camore!” I love the New Life Festival. I might have to get that snow globe house this year.
