The game’s best feature. Never get bored. Gain 3 new players. Lose just 2 players. Net 1 new player. Woohoo!

Something fun this patch? Play it real hard before they nerf your fun in three months.

Something not fun this patch? Ignore it. It’ll get nerfed in three months.

Wait, isn’t that what league of legends does? Or one of those popular rts competition games.

Pretty much. This is the only MMO I have every played since first starting in SWG back 2003 that the devs make these many extreme changes in this short of a time period. It's crazy.

It all depends on what you define as fun.

Let's assume, the number of players joining/leaving roughly are reflecting reality, I would assume those 2 leaving are just opportunists who hate challenges. Certain sets or abilities getting the nerf-hammer treatment, don't concern me too much. Sure, you have to read the tooltip again and stuff, but it's not game breaking as you make it out to be.

I always like to imagine, what peope would do with plain crafted non set gear, both in PvE and PvP. Then you would discover the folks, who still are able to enjoy this, because they actually know what they do with the class(es) they play.

Sometimes constant changes can usually be for the better..... but in ESO's case it really is a dice roll.

I would think growth in the total number of customers is considered very successful for pretty much any business.

Not a specialist, but i don't think nerfing the server performance would be any help, let alone even possible.

In theory it should get better, as they said they're done with the massive overhauls. Now it's focus on making classes feel different and iconic and tweaking numbers.

lmao you actually believe this? Wait til Q2 next year when they have to overhaul the game again to accommodate the new class/system.

It is way easier for ZoS to change skills than focus on the real problems of the game (for example it is 2019 and you cant pvp in prime time pn a 6 years old game)

You just re configure a few tooltips and/or change the descriptions. Very low cost for them (only the manhrs of their combat stuff which i doubt its more than 5 people) plus a possibility of a good income since most likely you need to race change if you want to keep up minmaxing characters

Aren't they supposed to overhaul sets at some point? I'm kind of waiting for it because steaming and salty unintentional humour it should invoke at forums.

Guess you didn't play launch to 1.6? That was the definition of a new game, this is called a meta changer, a balance patch. Games do it to enhance flavor, new to mmos? Its very common.

The problem I see is that they want to take away the "feel different" and replace it with "looks different". I feared homogenization, and it looks like I am getting it.

I am likening the path they are on to removing all beverage choices from a restaurant and replacing them with a Coke machines that adds flavors to the Coke. I want the "iconic" Cherry Coke flavor on this character, but I think I will try the trendy Orange Coke on this other one.

I expect that all of the classes will be Coke, though.

They destroyed class identity and now want to make them feel unique ? I dont get it

Yup, which is why League is slowly dying. Stiff competition from other MoBAs, terrible champion redesigns, and their gimmicky balancing has ruined the game for a lot of the vet players.

I didn't read their comments that way. I think the original vanilla classes are going to be in for massive changes with the next patch.

They mention how they like having the Warden/Necro clear healing, DPS and tank skill line. None of the vanilla classes are like that. I think when they do the class revamp, you are going to see them rearrange all the skills in the vanilla classes so that they have a heal, DPS and tank tree just like the newest classes. That being said, it means they want five of each skill type in those lines. Meaning some skills will probably become someone they aren't even close to being today.

I don't think there is going to be much class identity in the next patch. This combat patch was supposed to adjust skill damage across the board - whether those skills were generic, weapon or class related. Since this patch, we are seeing a massive shift in PvP to Soul Trap, Entropy and Dizzy Swing (two hand). This is the homogenization people are talking about.

So, when they move the skill trees around, how is that going to fix the over-abundance of generic skills, which overpower many class skills, from being used?
