With the last quest of the murkmire prequel quest in 2018 came a short trip to the swamp of Norg-Tzel.
This region never had a wayshrine, no villages, no crafting stations, nothing. You can't return there, and you have no reason to.
Yet it is still listed when you press M ingame.
Any theories on why?
I think it could have been added to create curiosity towards the murkmire addon. Has Zenimax simply forgotten to remove it?
Always wondered this myself. Exactly as you say once you have done the quest you can never return, and it has no wayshrine. But it is taking up space in the increasingly filled region list. The odd thing is there are other quest related areas that have never been added like this. Bit of an oddity.
You can click on it on the map (east of Murkmire). I forgot to get all the lorebooks on that island, unfortunately the only way to get there is to teleport to someone who is currently doing the quest there.

They have since added the lorebooks in this map to Stormhold, so there is no need to return to Norg-Tzel to collect them now.
You can still revisit it if you really want to by grouping with someone on the quest and speaking with the ship captain after your groupmate has found the map pieces. As far as I’m aware, actually teleporting there isn’t possible, even to another player, since there is no port shrine whatsoever. (Areas without interactable wayshrines, like public dungeons and Undaunted dungeons, have coldfire shrines where players will appear if they port to someone in that location - Norg-Tzel has none.)
