Can't get my Staff Restored...Bummed. Has this happened to anyone else?

Accidentally deconned my "Ruin" staff deconning items to fast..."RUIN" is near the trash = "ruby ass staff of deconn"
contacted zos, they said, tough luck buddy, we made a "lock system" to prevent that.
They've helped me out restoring items 2 times in 5 years, but now won't?
Anybody else have experience with them not helping how they used to?

Years ago, I once accidentally bound an item I wished to sell. The answer from customer service was essentially 'tough luck, be more careful'.
As disappointed as I was, I came to agree with the policy; otherwise, ZoS would have to employ legions of staff to do nothing but reverse player mistakes.

✭✭I've seen CS of many game companies do a restore of accidentally destroyed items, but regardless of the company it always comes with a warning that it's a one-time-only favor.
ZOS has done it for you twice, and you still expected them to bail you out...

✭✭✭✭✭I agree with therift, Zos gave us a tool to protect us from ourselves. They have to spend time and money to search our accounts to verify we had the item, see what we actually did with the item and then decide if it should be replaced. That is money.
Sorry for your loss but this is a learning lesson for all of us. Use the lock feature for anything you want to prevent losing. Zos gave us the ability to protect us from ourselves. We need to use it (or lose it).

Recently had a warmachine jack restored i accidently decond.
They asked for as much detail as possible like on which character, when i recieved and when i decond the item. Then they mailed it to me.
This was like two weeks ago.

✭✭✭✭✭Are we talking about Ruin? The staff that drops quite regularly from Vaults of Madness? If so I'd be absolutely insulted as a CS rep if someone asked be to restore that. You made a mistake. You admit that you have already asked twice in the past for restores which they were nice enough to do. You seem to make a habit of destroying things that are easy to acquire then wasting CS time trying to get them back. Just go farm another one. It's not like Perfected Loki daggers or sharpened maelstrom inferno from back in the day or even a long discontinued item like an unbound Bow of the Viper. It's a regular old staff that you could likely get within a few runs of the dungeon (even on normal). Own the mistake and replace it yourself, which in this case is totally within your power to do in a very reasonable time frame unlike the other examples I listed.1 -

1) You accidentally deconned an item and ZoS declined your request, but they granted it twice before.
2) You didn't like that answer, so you started a thread to see if anyone else were turned down for a similar request.
3) You received a mixed bag of answers: some said they were denied the first time they asked; others said a request was recently granted.
4) Some answers suggested you may have used up your chances, should use the safety tools provided, or think ZoS shouldn't cater to these requests except in rare cases
5) Now, for some reason, you need ZoS to close the thread and are spamming every ZoS employee you can... on Saturday night, no less. At dinner time for the East Coast.
What, pray tell, is so infamous or offensive among the responses that you solicited that you've pulled the fire alarm on your own thread?
