Everything depends on the topic and what people have already said. Sometimes its light, and someone opens themselves up to a joke. Other times issues are very pertinent to the game, so its more of a discussion. Sometimes people put out ideas that IMHO would be very Bad for the game, so its a more serious discussion.

So the forums were ... well, they're not the next best thing, because they're completely stupid.
PvE-players hating fans of PvP and vice versa. A guy in every thread who "stopped playing years ago, because X". Casual players complaining about pressure due to their lousy DPS and or lack of understanding basic game mechanics. Experienced players complaining about having to carry casual players. People constantly bringing up the BBB and lawsuits, because the servers are being stupid. Signatures where people quote famous authors whose name they cannot spell properly in the signature. And I'm right in the middle. I didn't mean to hang around after maintenance, but now it's hard to stop.Nobody cares about your endless list of terribly-named characters.1
