Learning from BOTs

So I'm running around and like clock-work I run across trains of BOTs in dungeos like Ondil where 10-15 are following each other with the same weapons and skills killing pretty much everything before I can get in a hit. Or solo / pair BOT in one of the rooms. But they are all Templars and they always only do that one skill "Puncturing Strikes". Even the solo BOTs rush to an enemy quickly and kill it as soon as I get there. The ones in the rooms die sometimes but they auto resurrect -- none seem to be wearing armor! So, my question is - is Templar really that much better that they don't need armor and can kill so quickly? My mage barely gets wound up by then and I know I can't kill quite that fast with any one skill at the same level (10). I just watched the BOTs and was amazed... I may try a Templar soon. I assume the BOT people worked out which is best at what they need to do...

It's a bot. It's automated. There is no human on the other end playing. There is no human reaction time. They time everything down to the millisecond, perfectly each and every time, over and over and over and ...

The lesson here is that if that's how you want to play the game, get a bot app.

I'm thinking you should send at least a /feedback to ZOS (in game) and give them some location info, user name etc. Or maybe a /bug and call it an exploit (since it is). Help them crack down on this stuff.

The final hit of that Puncturing strikes is a small knockback.
In a 1v1 you can basically never get hit if you spam it, but chew through mana.
In a 2v1 or more, a Templar will get hit and will have to move or he will die.

Yeah. I reported all of them -- took a very long time to get the player names since they were always stacked and moving. Had to wait a pivot point to where they would go back the other direction. Makes sense - everything is automated, not like me that rotates around, hovers over to make sure its a bad guy, decides which spell to use, then act. And i guess thats why puncturing strike works so well when I saw it used - they rarely got a hit on them - when the BOTs died maybe because they missed on one of those hits.... Thanks!

I do puncturing strikes on my templar just to try and get a hit in before it falls over.

I know at least one of my hits will connect so I can get credit for the dungeon and move along.

Although I do see an occasional Dragon Knight pull the boss away from them. Watching 11 bots all get confused can be hilarious.

sadly, or should I say realistically, who has the time to report all of these people currently. And I say that as a person who believes in doing the right thing and trying to make the community better. But what I saw last night was just too much. In five minutes I had five guild invites, two emails and like 15 (yes 15!!!) spammers go to war with each other in zone chat. My quick bank shuffle before bed took 20mins to report all of them, and by the time I finished there we new spammers in zone chat.

Meanwhile on my main there was about five farmers guarding the spawn point for a boss in a solo dungeon yet they way the devs decided to build this UI means that we cant turn on name plates so instead of being able to report all five with a quick email and screenshot. (because I didnt have a pen and their UI takes you out of the game as such) there was no way remember five ghastly farmers names without going in and out of the menu, which of course keep deleting what I already wrote. Thankfully I finally realised copy and pasted worked in the window, but that meant I had to restart the process five times to do one report.

I have no problem reporting, or taking time out to do it, but the way the systems work now it is punshing me more than it deters them and there is simply so much horrible ways they work who really has the time to fight them if the devs alone arent meeting us half way and giving us tools to fight them. EG where is the official spam filter? Where are our nameplates?

They use it because Puncturing Strikes is an instant aoe attack.

I usually have to rely on spamming AoE attacks and praying I get enough of a hit in to get credit for the kill because of this. More than once I've had to wait for the third or fourth respawn before I could get credit, not only because of the bots camping the boss spawn, but because of all the other players like me who are just trying to get kill credit so they can move on.
