According to the patch notes, there will be new Master Furnishing Documents for sale for both Summerset and Clockwork furnishing plans in this update. Is there any possibility that the voucher cost of the Morrowind Documents might be reduced at that time? The purple one is 50 vouchers I think, which is equal to about 10 epic quality blacksmithing, clothing, or woodworking master writs. Legendary writs are not as common for me at least as they used to be, and these plans have been out for a while now. I hope this could be taken into consideration.

I think they're working on the idea that the plans sell for at least 25K (sometimes more), so that gives you just over 500g per writ voucher (minus fees).

My cut-off point for doing a writ is, currently, just over 500g worth of mats, per voucher (and most cost less) - so, if I'm lucky, I should make a small profit, after fees.

Wouldn't object to a reduction, although I would rather it happened after I have sold my current plans, lol.

As it would, obviously, drive the price of them down.

@Tigerseye that might be correct, I don’t really know the price of mats since I’m trying to be self-sufficient and farm all mine rather than buy them, and everyone goes by PC prices, which from everything I’ve read are much lower than on consoles.

I just know that legendary MWs aren’t as frequent as epic ones now, and lately even the legendary ones have been rewarding much less in the number of vouchers than they used to, if memory serves. So, the cost of these Morrowind documents have gone up in that regard. My suggestion is to normalize this back to what it was, especially since these documents will be less desirable now that Summerset and Clockwork City ones will be available.

I haven't priced MW plans on XB recently, but last I saw, they were at 30k on the low end and still ranging to 50k and up for some of the rarer/more desirable ones. So a reduction in voucher price would, I think lower prices further, which is ok, I guess, if you spent less vouchers on them in the first place.

Regarding Master Writs, I go through periods where I can't seem to get an equipment writ (outside of Jewelry) for more than 5-7 vouchers. And, when I do get a nirnhoned request, it's usually epic. And when it is legendary, it's usually for an armor piece. I haven't been lucky enough to score a legendary nirnhoned weapon MW since a few months after the launch of the system. I've gotten some legendary writs that were worth 80-100, but that big score hasn't happened for me in years. So, I've had to slowly build up my vouchers and even do the handful of legendary JC writs that were around 400 vouchers.

We can do lots of things to improve our chances of GETTING master writs (and I have done them all - I know what they all are), but we can't do anything to improve the VALUE of the writs we receive. It would be nice if that same improvement chance we get for obtaining a writ could also be applied to our chances of getting a higher-value writ.

Yes @Jayne_Doe that is exactly my point. 50 vouchers is a lot more expensive than it used to be. I was hoping to get some traction on this before the Scalecaller update but I guess there is just not enough interest. Not everyone has 28 crafters all doing daily writs to get the max number of vouchers possible, but few of them (like me) post here.

Yeah...I'm a console peasant, so I don't have an add-on to do the writs for me and open the containers. So, I only do writs regularly-ish on 6 characters. Some, days, though I only do them on my main, as doing writs daily on multiple characters is tedious without an add-on.

I suspect ZOS may want to try to keep the value of the Morrowind plans by keeping the price at 50 vouchers, but the content is two+ years old by now, so why not lower the voucher cost. Maybe not to the base game documents, but in between? So 15 for blues instead of 20 and 30-40 for purples instead of 50?

Well I guess I’m not holding my breath on this one, though it would be nice if it did drop in price.

I’d prefer to farm the plans, but years of farming Vvardenfell has got me only one purple plan. For me, it seems these plans only exist within the 50 voucher Documents. There’s something wrong with that too, but that’s another story.
