    a) They could program a multi-trader-bid-system, which entirely crashes the game by flooding billions of gold into the economy of some already super-rich guilds?

    b) They could cause less lag on the EU server, if they just stayed on the forums?

    c) They could fund-raise 38,45 EUR for another 8 GB of RAM to double the EU Server performance?

    Mhhhh ... difficult question.

They'd be MUCH better off at least saying "Hey guys, we're putting together the official statement, thank you for your patience" before letting it explode into a group of rabid angry players.

Such a statement would ALSO lead to an outrage of rabid angry players, you know :-) Any statement will lead to that. Only way to restrict it a bit is to be as concrete and pragmatic as possible (with explanations, plans, solutions and schedules). And you're right, they need the top management for that.

I know I'd be less rabid if I knew there'd be a statement soon. I'm sure some others would agree.

Well here's the "statement", ( http://"]https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/6284969/#Comment_6284969 ) , and as you can see, people are rabidly raging anyway...

Trying to read it comes up blank and "blocked"

    Thank You Jess!!

Now let's get back to the subject of trader bidding and the fact that we have posted 50+ pages on several threads and PTS feed back voicing AGAINST doing this and we were ignored. How majority of GM's, big and small voiced our concerns and got one response.

I'm so sorry for our EU family. Hope they figure out a fix soon...

I was wondering why all the legendary mats had gone...and that prices have skyrocketed.

Why aren't you testing these things properly before implementing patches, we are losing total trust here, Zos.

It's as if you want us to leave or something ^^

Because to test this, they would need to simulate hundreds of guilds and an overloaded server.
As we saw when the flip went fine on NA, the code itself probably worked reasonably well. It didn't work while the server was essentially crawling slowly backwards on EU.
That doesn't mean that this was unavoidable. ZOS is very much at fault for allowing this disaster to happen. They knew that the EU servers were as fast as an abacus during prime time. And many people pointed out the problem on the PTS.

    Hello everyone !
And hello @ZOS_GinaBruno and ZOS !

I guess that it is not to much to qualify the first multi-bid swap as a disaster on EU server.
I would lie if I would say that we expected it to be different, and one hour before the actual swap we all knew that it wouldn't be peaceful considering the lag spreading all over the game.

Sadly, many hours after that, there is no official communication about what happened, and eventually what will happen in the next few hours. And this last information is crucial for all people running trading guilds !!!
Maintenance is coming : will there be a roll back ? will the guilds who actually won their bids get their trader ? Will we all have to run to hire a trader ? Will the situation stay as it is during the whole week ? Will the problem be solved for the next bid ?
Glad for the US-server that everything went smooth for them ? But why didn't it work for us ?
Once more, not only the devs are failing, but the communication itself is a fiasco.

As we tend to say a lot, we LOVE the game, it is an AWESOME game ! But seriously, how can we not be absolutely disappointed by the perpetual disaster each "quality of life" improvement is bringing, and how you communicate about it. :heartbreak: Do you understand why it seems to us that you don't care at all? We have seem how fast it was to fix the "free necromancer-loss of money bug" last week.

So now it would be nice to see that someone cares and get some answers.I remember you saying that you would improve communication. Now is a good time to do it !
    Thanks for reading Zos, eventually....

And please people, stay constructive in this thread, this is a really a call for official communication, thanks

Implementing a new system on a weekend where nobody is at work, what could possibly go wrong. On top of that it is literally like prime time when the trader swap happens.

The amount of cash people got from the bug will be hard to track, especially because most people laundered the money already with buying houses, materials etc.

The only real solution would be a rollback, but by the time they decide on what to do, it will probably be monday evening for EU players, and can they really rollback the server at this point?

My biggest issue with this is that ZOS seems to have absolutely no understanding of what they are doing, for such a company it should be obvious to set these kind of implementations in a controlled environment where staff is present in case *** hits the fan. ESPECIALLY because a lot of the bigger trade guilds already mentioned that it will cause issues. There is a feedback topic on the new bidding system in the PTS section, it has 12 pages by now, it was filled with concerns from GMs because PTS testing doesn't reflect the server issues when trader flip is happening on the Live servers. Last response from ZOS in that topic is from 12th July (page 2 in the topic.) Silence since then.

Another problem, how can this swap of traders cause SO MUCH STRESS on the server? It seems to me that these would be fairly simple calculations that should be handled with ease for a big server like this. This leaves me with little hope for the performance roadmap. I was already very pessimistic (or realistic), but seeing that they simply do not have any organization or structure in the company, I doubt the roadmap will change performance a lot.

I would just like to say thank you. Someone as important as you speaking out against zos's performance lately is a big help to the community.

Assuming they fire you because we all know zos doesnt take criticism well, thank you for your work s a class rep.

No, they wouldn't need that... at all. This all could have been scripted and to simulate load in a test environment cores disabled along with regular traffic simulated. Flip wasn't great on NA but worked much better... but still far from reasonable.

The amount of gold this has brought into the game is massive.
Guilds got refunded more than what they bid, and we are not talking about a few thousand gold here. It's billions of gold from out of nowhere.
Some guilds got refunded several hundred millions more than what they bid, apparently some GMs have more than 1 BILLION gold more than before the trader bids. A great part of this gold is already laundered, people who got showered with gold yesterday bought literally everything in guild stores. There were basically NO dreugh wax, rosins or tempering alloy left in any guild in craglorn, rawlkha or Deshaan when I checked them last night, and when I logged off, people just started listing wax for 20k a piece.. if those are the new PC EU market prices for golden improvement mats then I don't know what to say.

My guess is, ZOS will do nothing, as they would have to do a complete server rollback and too much time has passed already. It's been 12 hours.

Oh wow. :s Worse than I thought... Sorry this happened to you guys :(

About what "Official statement" you asking for? Maybe you forgot that administration in this game does not know how to communicate with its own community? We have only Gina who tired about solo carring the whole thing and the ARMY of moderators, who are only engaged in the fact that they delete different posts, for example, this one.

Forget it, nobody care about ur traders.

When ZOS is finally ready to issue a statement regarding the incident, could we PLEASE have the FULL start-to-finish information -- what happened exactly, how it happened, and possibly the decision process / considerations involved in what the final resolution.

I'd really rather not leave a lot of speculation to the generally toxic forum and get the information straight from the investigation.

The lag shouldn't be blamed on the trade guilds and the swapping, because the server was lagging heavily all day before it even happened. It was lagging on and off all week too. If it had been addressed when it started, this might not have happened at all. Something is wrong with these servers, and/or the scale breaker patch. It needs to be investigated, repaired and/or patched. Otherwise, these things will continue to happen. The rest of it will slowly go back to normal once the scale breaker performance issues are solved imho.

Best wishes all and have fun in the game.

My suspicion is they wait until they have it all put together and it's been reviewed on high before they post responses, which causes a tremendous delay. They'd be MUCH better off at least saying "Hey guys, we're putting together the official statement, thank you for your patience" before letting it explode into a group of rabid angry players.

My guess is they are having meetings to figure out who gets to do the response and Gina repeatedly saying "NOT IT!"

ZOS is really brave to ruin half of game aspects one week before release of classic. I mean I don't think that classic will be that good or will keep a lot of players, but MMO has such feature as a habit to play, habit to value certain things like your gold, goodies, guilds and your characters. When gold loses it's price, market is crazy and half of your characters are ruined every patch and there is alternative of game which lacks problems of modern gaming... you may simply lose that habit to play and log on.

ZOS need to realize that their CORE BUSINESS is inherently tied to a STABLE GAMING PLATFORM.

Kavalier changes with players hard earned and cherished characters, update after update, a non-performing server with excuse after excuse folowed by ineffective solutions and are NOT factors that wil win long term player loyalty to ZOS or ESO.

Eventually players will just say *** it and move on to another game as much as they love ESO, the aggravation wil just become too much.

Personally I would want ZOS to stop ALL OTHER CONTENT DEVELOPMENT to focus ONLY on a RELIABLE and STABLE SERVER.

And it needs to happen NOW...

ZOS has treated Guilds and the Economy as an after thought from the start. Things are important parts of maintaining the habit to play. Yet there is no defined sub-forum for Guilds and Trader issues. You have to guess at which forum you will place it in, an if it's general it gets buried so fast.

Guess if you screw up things up bad enough every takes notice that these are important parts of the game.
