give limited craftbag to everyone, say 20 of each item and remain unlimited for eso+. it's time.

So the results are unanimous. 38% of respondents voted yes. and the rest voted ytes and yes and yes.

    there we have it.

Also it wouldnt effect people subbing. If you want unlimited mats in the craft bag you would still sub for eso +. But as an added bonus, let eso + subs get to put their crafting maps in there as well. with some stacking limits of course.

    Where's "No"?

Also, 20 of each item? 20 is nothing. Most of the junk that clutters up the craft bag very quickly goes into the dozens-to-hundreds. Only stuff I have less than 20 of is rare stuff, like Nirncruxes or Roe, or JC platings. :D

It'd be a little hard for the results to be anything other than unanimous with your poll choices.

Did it ever occur to you that if you want to have a snowball's chance in hell of persuading ZOS to listen to your idea, maybe you should construct a proper poll?

Unless this is purely an exercise in troll polling, in which case, carry on.

I think OP knows there is not a chance Zos will lose their marbles and offer this because it would not be a good business move. Pretty sure it is intended as tongue and cheek.

Since I couldn't vote no, why not. Seriously, All you have to do to get the craft bag is take advantage of the free eso+ weeks and load those craft bags up with as much as you can at that time and you're good. There's no limit to how much you can put in in the free periods other than the limit to your gold for buying mats you can store there.

Nope. ESO has ongoing, maintenance costs. How are they met? Pixie dust from sparkle pony land?

Peeps don't have to pay for the upkeep of the game. Those of us that do get a bonus. Want the same bonus? Shell out the equivalent of a few pennies per day. Not much to ask, is it.

I'm serious enough about the game to care about inventory space, therefore I'm serious enough about the game to subscribe to ESO+. I'm also serious enough about the game that it is the only game I play - therefore, ESO+ is a bargain. If I wasn't serious enough about the game to subscribe, I wouldn't be serious enough about it to care about inventory. Each player can make their own choices and deal with the resultant consequences. :)

this would in no way effect anyone who has paid for unlimited craftbag space and got 1650 crowns on top of that plus access to all the dlc content

i pay. i get not only unlimited craftbag but also access to all dlc and 1650 crowns.

it literally takes nothing away from me if those who dont or cant pay get some limited craftbag use. say 20 items per mat.

I lose nothing and would not stop payig for eso plus.

They need to increase the bank size along with each new expansion. That would help.

Zos' recent explanation for why they are not offering a furniture bag would also be the reason for not adding to our bank size. It adds to the server load. It made sense to me after I remembered the last increase to storage Zos provided where the chests which are separate and as such would require less work from the server.

Edit: In case some are not familiar with the response from Zos I mention. Zos stated that the number of different furnishings is significantly more than the number of different crafting matts and as such would add more load to the server. The same would apply to the rest of our inventory since that is mostly different sets of gear.

Seriously their server system must be really inefficient. There are other online games that has no problems handling tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of item stacks in hundreds of thousands of containers owned by players and spread all over the game world. Some of these games those containers are standing out in the open game world (not instanced) for everyone to see and interact with. No lags or delay. I dont know why ZOS has such an incredible problem with server performance from this.

I think that's the point. To allow everyone a teeny tiny amount to say do a quick crafting writ but not enough space to really keep a good supply of mats so that they are still incentived to sub.

Can you say the same for the entirety of the playerbase?

    Nope.

That's why this is a dead horse topic on the forums. Too many posters with ideas willing to say "Well, I wouldnt quit paying ZOS!" When ZOS accountants know darn well that some people would stop paying them, and more people would buy the cheaper option instead. ZOS's accountants arent stupid - they know better than to exchange the long term profit of a high value subscription for the short term gain of devaluing it by selling a limited form.

What you would do doesnt actually mean anything when taken in the context of the whole playerbase.

(That last also goes for all the "I quit" posters or "I'm unsubbing because of X, Y, and Z" posters. ZOS doesnt care what you as an individual do, and its very rare that your behavior will be copied by enough of the overall playerbase to make a difference.)

Depends on what is meant by "20 items". Is that 20 item stacks, each stacking actually allowing millions of that same item? That's how the crafting bag works currently; or did the OP mean actually only 20 items? If it's the first that would mean 20 infinite item stacks would be extremely useful still, too much imo, for non-paying players. But if it is just only 20 different items, with 200 stack limit in each, then it is not much, and wont really matter.

If inventory space was the only factor in server load then this would be a great comment. As it is there is much more involved in what loads a server so comparing it to other games, especially games that are much more simplistic in design makes no sense.

Further, I have yet to paly an MMORPG that did not have server lag at some point and I have played a few major titles. Maybe you played a very unpopulated game where you experienced no lag or delay every in anything. Granted, you did not back up your comments with the games you speak of.

I am not defending Zos. They made a game more complicated than their server design and engine can handle and I pretty much blame the major issues of this game on Matt Firor since he is the one who steered the design and priorities for the teams that created and maintain ESO.

It was a b.s. response. If extra storage really caused significant server load - then the crafting bags alone (which let you store near endless amounts of items) would cause their server to explode. lol...

So I don't believe that hogwash excuse for a second.

It takes almost no memory to save an item I.D. number, which in reality is all we're really talking about here. A simple number for the system to identify. That would take like 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 resources. Maybe less. Which is of course why crafting bags can store a near infinite number of items.

I initially became a Master Crafter without having a subscription. My bank was pretty much just full of mats all the time, and I was limited in what gear sets I could keep. I've now been an ESO+ subscriber for about two years. I sometimes look at my crafting bag now and go "There's pretty much no way I could pull it off now like I did back then. The number of different mats has grown by enough to make it not feasible to be a serious crafter or furnisher without the bag." Forget ease and time saved, the crafting bag is the only way to be able to do certain things in the game at all, as you can't realistically be both a master crafter and frequent furnisher otherwise. So I would actually support this move, as it would stop people essentially being fenced off from seriously competing in certain facets of the game, while not eroding the ease of mass crafting materials accessible to us who are subscribed.
