Does anyone know of a solid Solo PVE build?

ms_sophysticated
Hello everyone,

I don’t know if I asked this question before but, I’m looking for a good solid solo pve build for Stamina Nightblade, that I can follow until I can get good enough to create my own.

It seems that everywhere that I look, all that I find is pvp builds. and even if I did find a build that I think would work, it was created 1-2 years ago, So it’s no good to me now.

I asked Dottz gaming if he had any solo pve build on his site and he said no, not yet.

I looked on alcasts website and he doesn’t have anything that I’m looking for either.

So I’m wondering if there is any other people that do PVE that could recommend a temporary one?

Thanks in advance

Some information would help to give better advice. I assume that you're levelling/questing/collecting gear.

    Try this:

    Skills
Surprise Attack / Barbed Trap / Shrouded Daggers / Ambush / Shadowy Disguise
Poison Injection / Draining Shot / Endless Hail / Soul Splitting Trap / Echoing Vigor

    Gear
    Hunding's Rage
Warrior Poet / Plague Doctor (blue quality jewelry to save some money)
Any Monster set as soon as you get one

Warrior-Poet / Plague Doctor are tanking sets and not useful for nightblade group activity. But for learning the class, it helps to make your character a little bit tougher. Nightblade are pretty squishy, and when you start out, a combat might end with a sudden apparent one-hit. Replace with a damage set when you feel comfortable with the skills.

Try to get in as much medium as possible, at least 5 pieces, e. g. like this:

    - Plague Doctor/Warrior Poet Jewelry, Chest, Legs
    - Hunding Weapons, Gauntlets, Belt, Boot
    - Monster set (or any other 2-piece): Shoulder, Head

    P. S.: Tell me ingame for questions - faster. ;)

If you looking for cheap but good solo build:

    Gear: hundings + spriggans + selene (5 medium + 1 heavy chest + 1 light belt)
(as solo you don't have tank giving you penetration help, so spriggan helps a lot, hundings a good and cheap stam set even for trial gear farming later, selene is easy to get and good stam nightblade monster helm)

    Skills:
DW: surprise attack, whirling blades, killers blade, shrouded daggers, vigor, ulti: incap or dawnbreaker
Bow: poison injection, arrow barrage, soul splitting trap, charging maneuver, leaching strikes, ult: soul tether

The charging maneuver for speed (both on horse and on foot, as stam character you can keep it up even now with the short duration) and leaching strikes for sustain buff before fights. You start fights too always on bow bar, and also you on bow bar when moving and running around (don't forget you get a short major expedition when roll dodge on bow bar!)

For mobs, start with arrow barrage and soul spliting trap, swap to dw bar and hit shrouded daggers and then whirling blades until they down, using vigor when needed (you can preemptive cast vigor right after bar swap too). For big mobs at the end of bow bar before swap, roll dodge into the middle of the mob and use soul tether.

For bosses: poison injection, barrage, soul splitting trap, bar swap, shrouded daggers, ult from dw bar followed by surprise attacks until boss in execute range, then killers blade. Recast dots from bow bar when they expire and use vigor if needed.

The above will get you through soloing overland, public dungeons, or even some group dungeons.

I'm personally loving Hunding's Rage with Briarheart for my stamina nightblade, that I solo a ton with since she's my main. But you'll have to decide if you want to focus on your dodge/roll skills and maximizing your damage, or wearing a set with heavier resistances and doing less damage.

Just depends on your play style.

I start with Alcast's Ravager build but then I'll modify it according to what I'm doing and what's fun for me on any given day. I enjoy trying different skills out in overland content just to see the effect.

As I'm starting to do more veteran content, I'm making further modifications. Currently I'm at CP320.

Hasn't been updated for Scalebreaker yet, so keep an eye out.
Xy also gives different gear options if his optimal set up isn't for you.

Edit: Also check out Hack the Minotaur. Does PvP stuff, but actually has a lot of easy, solo PvE builds

Theoretically his vMA builds should do the trick?

The biggest problem for me in stamblade builds was self-healing. Solutions I used include:
    • Vigor!!
    • Reaper's Mark (highly underrated for overland play)
    • Briarheart set
    • Bloodthirst skill in the DW line
    • Crushing Weapon in the Psijic line

The last three don't heal as much as the first two, but this may be the best time ever to buy Briarheart in guild stores, due to the event.

That said -- my main reason for having a stamblade was to play him as thief. Thief builds focus on better stealth (stealth speed, detectability radius, cost of sneaking) via some subset of:
    • Medium armor passive.
    • Night Terror, Night Mother's Embrace and/or Darloc Brae sets.
    • Racial choice (mine is named Grump Ex Wood Elf).
    • Vampire or the Night's Silence set (to cancel the sneak speed penalty).
    • Concealed Weapon (sneak speed buff).
    • Shadowy Disguise (duh).
    • Champion points.
    • Legerdemain passive.

Older discussions of thief builds may still be largely accurate. The biggest change is that Retreating Maneuvers used to be better both for run speed and for anti-snare than it is now. Also, the Darloc Brae set was recently introduced.

And opening from stealth with Snipe is fun. :)
