I kind of agree with you. Maybe they've been instructed to not waste time on it or something. Or there is such an integral flaw that it cant be fixed without massive overhauls/insane downtown and the higher ups dont think the lost money will be worth it. Like honestly people are still spending a ton of money on subs and cosmetic items. Fixing the lag might bring back a handful of old PvPers but that's really it.
If you were a greedy business person, then in this light spending any resources on fixing lag isn't worth it. Instead they spoon feed us some BS about character composite changes or whatever (which they already did spoiler it didn't work) and say some light FPS improvements are coming for older systems lol.
Hi, welcome to Elder Scrolls Online forums, we love to see these repetitive threads of people crying daily. I hope you enjoy your stay and please read ESO updates/news. This year is going to be focused on performance
I’m not looking for a golden egg or a miracle here. There is ALWAYS going to be lag due to the massive amount of computations that the system must process. HOWEVER I have been playing for five years, I bought the game DAY ONE and the state of the game is unacceptable. The disconnects, freezes, everything is beyond unacceptable.
NOT ONCE have I come on here and complained about lag, but the state of the game is borderline unplayable. And don’t you dare say, “boohoo go play something else,” I love this game and that is the ONLY reason I deal with it. But everything has a breaking point and this game is reaching it.
When someone can’t go into SOLO content and play maelstrom without random dying it is unacceptable. When you are trying to 1v1 in the middle of Cyrodiil with no other players around and you crash to home, that is unacceptable.
I have put a THOUSAND dollars into this game (eso plus 15*50 months; I unsub when pissed) and all the chapters...
I expect a working product when I have invested this much time and money into this game. The game is getting worse. The lag was not nearly as bad as it was three years ago, it is 10 times worse. If I knew what I knew now back then I would have got out- but now I am so financially deep into this game it makes pulling the band aid off that much harder.
I don’t expect miracles, and I don’t expect a magic button, but I do expect a WORKING game. And so should you. Keep this in mind, if you have subbed and bought the expansions you have paid over a thousand dollars. One. Thousand . Dollars. What do you expect out of something when you put that investment in? No matter how much money you make, you all value your money.
Hell, one dollar was enough of a bet for Mortimer...
100mbps, hardwired, Xbox one X, SSD, subbed account and been playing since launch day 1...

Expecting us to wait until 2020 for a performance fix is a bit rich, especially considering that performance was actually semi-okay on console pre-Elsweyr. I’d really like to know what they managed to screw up so badly with Elsweyr that resulted in extreme frame rate loss and rubber banding in deserted vanilla PVE locations like The Rift. How does it take a year to fix the mistakes of a single update?

Back in TES 3 pigs could fly, obviously the amusement was then the AoE levitation spell timed outOh they will just push the fix lag button. and it will all magically be gone. Then a pig will fly by and lay a golden egg on your lawn.
