Unpopular Opinion: I like the new patch

Who cares if the meta changed. It does every time. Now I can multi craft without needing ad-dons that took performance from my game. I'm quite happy

Glad the multi crafting made this patch awesome for you. You must not do anything else in the game but farm mats judging by your statement.

I haven't found any problems with the patch yet, although as an active but not obsessive crafter I find the multi-crafting pretty "meh". Of the characters I've played so far, one or two feel better and none of them feel worse.

You're not the only one because I am liking this new patch too. It's been a huge improvement on the game from my perspective and my hats off to this new combat team.

I'm doing pledges again on my healer and actually having fun while doing it. PvP is a lot better. I'm no longer getting sucked into AoE black holes of instant death or stun/slaughtered every time multiple people decide to attack me. The multi crafting is a beautiful thing - especially when making large quantities of potions. What nerfs I have encountered have been mitigated with reasonable alternatives.

My only criticism so far is the movement penalty on the new Unstoppable ability. I believe that is excessive. But other than that, I have nothing but praise.

Most folks complaining about the patch are the same folks who complain whenever anything is changed that requires them to adapt. DoT builds are easier for newer players to learn and in turn, allow them to achieve great damage numbers. This translates into more players able to do more trials and more pugs clearing dungeons. This is a great change. Magicka is back in favor this patch and it is frankly overdue given the fact that stamina has dominated ESO for the last two years.

Time to dust off my Infallible Aether and set up my bars for a channeling HA DoT build. Every class benefits from this approach, especially Necromancers, Templars, and Dragonknights as they have specific tools/passives to improve upon it. This build translates well into PvP where single-target DoTs can be stacked on a target and then you channel on them (debuffing them by 8%) while they melt. Great stuff!

I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to easier pug dungeon and trial clears for this patch!

    half n half
    i like it.
there is allways like that on all the patches, some like it some dont.

Long time player here, relatively “new” to the forums.

I too enjoy the patch. I think somethings need to be tweaked but for the most part love it. I did have to change up some my builds, speccing less into offense and more into the defensive trees.

I agree that the dot meta is sorta — meh, but whatever, this is an MMO, change is constant thing, for better or for worse.

Hopefully the current dev team continues with a clear vision. My only gripe is that we are on the verge of homogenization. In PvP and PvE. But then again, we could also pretend that most people weren’t running the same up in either environment ;)

anyhow, If standardization can lead to balance and optimization, and if they do indeed have big plans for stability in an upcoming patch next year, I hope this will lead to new skill lines and spellcrafting.

I dont care about the meta changing. What I care about is if it is more fun or less fun than the previous one. Im on console so I cant say for sure but it definitely appears less fun and seems like players are having less fun.

Well see on the 27th..... Not going to be surprised if I will be taking a good long break again considering how fun the last few updates have been. As this looks to be more of the same

Imagine if they only did the good parts like crafting changes y’all love and even more performance improvements. If only they refrained from jacking up the rest of the game, making PvP bland and overpowering DoTs and guilds skills at the same time, we could all love the patch as much as you do.

Is it a coincidence that guild skills become essential with the same patch they added guild skill lines to the cash store for $30/character? Hmmm...

Multicrafting -- I'm happy about that.

Shift away from ground-based DoTs -- I'm actually happy about that too, IF I can work out a way to change builds easily mid-instance, which seems likely since I'm on the PC and hence have access to add-ons.

Destruction of magicka sorcerers -- I'm quite displeased with that one.

Overall, I have long had 3 Breton templars, so not ALL my characters feel like they should be retired. Just a lot of them.

I genuinely don’t get liking this patch.

I get that we all have different priorities.

But: I don’t enjoy Battlegrounds at all, but if ZOS made major changes that made battlegrounds more frustrating, that changed things about Battlegrounds that were fun and immersive into things clunky and unenjoyable, I’d be bothered by that. I’d consider it a bad change even though it didn’t affect me at all.

I don’t main Templar, but taking Major Mending away from their class skills was stupid. I don’t main Nightblade, but taking the stun from Teleport Strike seems dumb to me.

Going off that, I would expect the Power Surge change, in and of itself, would be enough to draw most everyone’s deserved ire for this patch.

Maybe I just expect too much of people.

Human nature is to speak out when there is something you do not like. If you are content with what is happening you are less likely to make the effort.
All the negative comments in the forums in no way can be seen to represent the thoughts and feelings of the general population of players.
It took the group I do Black Rose Prison with not quite an hour to adjust our builds and we were good to go. One DPS noticed a drop in damage that he couldn't fix with quick adjustments but he will figure it out.
I've not taken my pet sorc out to play yet. Some say they were nerfed to hell and back others I ask say things aren't that bad. I'll find out soon.
I like the quality of life changes (had me spitting a bit until I got rid of a couple of problem causing add-ons) and the new content is really fun.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I was okay with the patch until they threw one too many gimps on my favorite character. Not really happy about the gimps to my second favorite character either, but the surge changes just made e go major wtf.

Overall is a good patch for pvp. The new dots are balanced. The complaints are about the new magicka dots and i dont understand why. Before this patch, stamina setups (medium and heavy) were even stronger user of dots.

The classes that can abuse the most this new abilities are nightblades with cloak, and everyone else is super weak to any gap closer-burst combo.

For pve the new dots are very strong and in some cases can outperform class abilities which is wrong.

I mean the new combat team screwed the pooch balance wise for PvP, but goodness gracious the new dungeons are well designed! I love mechanics heavy dungeons that are just, well, fun!

I have never been the "meta" type player. I watch my DPS numbers, find a rotation I like, muddle thru changes in combat, and adjust.
I have done this since closed beta. PC early launch and 9k in game hrs played. But these changes have me realizing I have to redo my build. Good or Bad... Good balance or crap.... I just know my set up is no longer viable and have to change things and as a layman to percentages and numbers, I don't like this patch.

BUT!!! The guild changes in this patch suck. Multi bidding had multiple pages of PTS feedback that was ignored. Guild History PTS feedback that was ignored. Multi crafting bugs ignored.
If you are a GM, NO this was not a good patch...
