Endless Hail

winged_tortoise
What’s the best way to use endless hail at the start of a fight? Should I launch it at distant target or over the top me so that a distant target charges into it?

On my Dragonknight I have been starting most combat with an Endless Hail, Poison Injection, Flames of Oblivion and Weapon Swap. It works well. Most mobs are pretty dinged up by the time they get to me. Only they are I also usually out of the endless hail. I’m wondering if I should do things differently? Sometimes I kite the mobs back to the endless hail. So too I sometimes launch it over where I think they will be rather than where they are. What is best?

Why not both? :D When in group, launch it over tank, when solo - over kited boss, yourself or slightly towards the mobs.

When you are solo doing stuff like Public Dungeons, overland content, quests etc:

Cast Endless Hail and run into them! Don't use PI except on bosses, but just use Soul-Splitting Soul Trap, Noxious Breath and Whirling Blades spam!

Usually I don't do Hail anymore because of the long animation. Easier to just go for Noxious, Soul-Splitting Trap and Whirling Blades spam.
