The number is closer to 1/200 in reality, although that ratio is variable.
You're also not taking into account the resale values of other mats refined through the process - it isn't all about the gold tempers.
I trade a lot more than most - I know that I can make more profit from selling refined mats than raw. No question.

I would notice sometimes, having like 1000 or so raw ore in my bag, go to refine it, get maybe 2-4 tempering alloys.
Then another time I would have a small stack of some odd level ore (like orichalcum or galatite) and then I would refine those 10 or 20 ores and guess what? TEMPERING ALLOY. Always with the super small stacks. You think the same odds would apply to the massive stacks but nooooo. Am I bitter? Ya. lol

I sell about 3-10m a week in gold mats depending how hard I try. Even if you think purple mats are worth a guild store slot over a 8x stack of gold I would argue its not worth it. Just my opinion though.
I found 1/130 pushing it let alone 1/200. I also found over about 200k raw materials to be 130ish but obviously rng etc.Mrs_Malaka wrote: »Not tin foil hat theory when it's a fact after testing with multiple other people getting the same damn results!

I just think its weird that it has had a noticeable nerf to drop rates. Just cant think of a reason they would change it.

I am trying to discern what you are actually saying here? Do you farm that many raws or buy wholesale? I agree the ratio is typically between 175 to 225 per gold as a linear average. 130 is pretty darn good, what is the batch size breakpoint where you start to achieve 130? I think you indicated 200k but I find it unlikly you refine that much in a setting, do you mean as an aggragate over time?
And yes purple except for jewelry are not usually worth a slot unless you just want to dump some smalls.
