Greetings, friends! I wonder why the races of Tamriel are so distrustful and unfair in their thoughts of the Dunmer people. Generally. Since I've always been a Dunmer in TES universe I understand why do we treat distrustfully other Tamrielic races. But I do not understand why do they do the same to us. How do you think?
Here it is how I see it:
  • We have never waged a full scale conquest directed towards anyone but suffered the most severe casualties before stopping all the true Evil Tamriel has ever faced.
  • We were the ones to defeat the Nedes in the last known offensive war they waged, stopping their brutal expansion and weakening them. After it they were mostly on their defenses finally taking their last fatal blow from the Yokudans under Tarish-Zi who slaughtered the Nedes almost entirely.
  • Almost the same way we were the ones to stop the Nords from invading any foreign land again after defeating them around 1E 700. As we see it the human races caused almost total eradication of at least two folks. We made them give up that policy forever.
  • We were the ones to save Tamriel from the Dwemer threat. But first we were the ones at least to encounter it. We all remember what Azura said about their Numidium project and we all remember what had they done to the Falmer race before it. I don't remember Azura has ever been wrong.
  • We were the only ones to actively confront and passively destroy the Second Empire resulting in the liberation of all the races that were conquered by the Reman Dynasty. Firstly, by exhausting and disbalancing the Remans on the battlefield. And secondly, by assasinating those Akaviri snake s'wits who overthrew the Remans after it, thus ending the history of that warlike state.
  • Dagoth Ur. The greatest threat Nirn has ever faced. You remember his plans after the Tribunal's fall? Blight storms, ash vampires, hordes of monsters all over Tamriel and the fully operational Akulakhan - the machine of an unstoppable conquest. Nerevar kills Dagoth Ur (as Dagoth Ur witnesses himself twice) but Dagoth Ur survives. Imagine the Tribunal is loyal to the oath and does nothing. Nerevar dies, the Tribunal dies, the Chimer do not become the Dunmer, Azura has no reason to prophesy the return of her Champion, Dagoth Ur wakes up. After murdering or turning everybody into his ash monsters he starts a deathmatch with Mehrunes Dagon, entire Oblivion, Alduin, another Akaviri invasion - whatever. Whoever wins - all the people of Tamriel loose. I doubt anyone wants to exist in such a monstrous world. Still there's no weapon to slay him, nobody to get to him close enough to stop him because no one has a certain plan to defeat him, there's no one to know where to find the Tools of Kagrenac, how to use them correctly, no one left to build the Ghostfence, no Nerevarine Cult, no Nerevarine. So the Tribunes were absolutely right to murder Nerevar and to use the Tools, starting the chain of circumstances leading to the only possible way to destroy the Sharmat and save Tamriel.

So the history shows we were absolutely right to refuse to worship those Eight Apostasies and leave the rest of our kin by following the lead of Saint Veloth because all the evils listed above appeared irrespectively of the Veloth's decision (well, ok, except the only evil of Dagoth Ur). Who else has ever saved Tamriel so many times if not the Dunmer? And what favor and gratitude do we have in return? Those recent Daggerfall Covenant and the Aldmeri Dominion invasions we have faced during the ESO PvE Pact campaign - how dare they are to fight us invading our lands and confronting us in Cyrodiil? They and all their descendants are in an irredeemable life debt to us! Twice at least.

The Covenant fights to capture the Ruby Throne in order to restore the Second Empire - one of the Evils we've once defeated.
The Dominion seeks the way to reestablish Elven dominance over Tamriel - another Evil we still have to defeat.
So I urge you to give up fighting for the Dominion or the Covenant and join the ranks of the Ebonheart Pact for we fight only to protect our borders and freedom. Keep to the Tribunal. Victory for the Three!

"The Imperial province of Cyrodiil dominates central Tamriel. With the Empire's collapse, armies of the Dominion, Covenant, and Pact have all invaded Cyrodiil, vying for the Imperial throne and control of the greatest prize in the land."

The fact that has nothing to do with the war anymore not sure why that load screen still exists.

So that's the justification for enslaving Tamriel's other races, eh? Dandy :#

Its probably because most foreigners' first impression of the Dunmer is either:
    A) being captured by Dunmer as a slave
B.) hearing Dunmer sneer "N'wah!" at them.

Neither one of those is terribly endearing, you know?

The Tribunal are evil. Dagoth Ur knew that the Heart of Lorkhan was too powerful in the wrong hands and warned the Nerevar. The Tribunal then betrayed the Nerevar and stole the power of the heart instead of destroying it like they should have. Also join AD. We have cookies and stamplars

I was going to say something about that, but you beat me to it. Honestly though, as long as you aren't one of those Dunmer, I've got no problems with you.

Yeah, I think you named the actual reason. But what else is left to do with an ungrateful n'wah ;)? Yesterday you saved their lives and today they all unite to invade your home, to drain your resources, eat your food and make their messes into your poopy chair, instead of living their own lives, giving thanks, showing some respect and making friends. You shoot all the invaders down and bury them at your backyard, you never try to conquer, annihilate or enslave them entirely as a retaliation act. But their kin still uses every opportunity to invade and dictate their rules. They build those Talos monuments all over Tamriel but he was the one to conquer those lands killing those local defenders brave enough to oppose him. I don't know a single monument dedicated at least to Saint Nerevar or the Tribunes outside Morrowind, built in respect of their deeds to save the man-, beast- and merkind I mentioned above. I suppose they all have to understand it or Morrowind will soon have no ground left to bury all the numerous invaders before the Dunmer Grand Council finally changes our peaceful foreign policy.

This is why I think the Velothi people are so unwelcoming and joining the Covenant or the Dominion brings disgrace in the minds of the Dunmer upon all those ungrateful n'wahs oblivious of the good to do so. A man of honour respects the Dunmer and joins the Pact to bring victory to all free nations of Tamriel. Argonians helped us fight back the Akaviri - no surprise they are slaves no more but are the respected members of our Pact. It's fair.

So how come a Dunmer calls another Dunmer a N'Wah? They don't even accept their own race. Sheesh. At least they are racist against everyone.

Curious how they feel that an Argonian was the Vvardenfall hero. :p

The "Guide to the Ebonheart Pact" states: "By their decisive intervention against the Akaviri, the Argonians of Black Marsh won their freedom from Dark Elf enslavement, and the lessons they learned have made them a valuable member of the Pact."
This also acknowledges my private opinion on Argonians I've posted above. They deserve our respect but still ;): tumblr_n8au47GRMy1rk2l45o1_1280.jpg

Just typical breton propaganda. They do the same about all races, but they envy dunmers for numerous reasons, so dunmers are hit by this false rumors more then anybody.
All this "N'wah" thing is similar to IRL British "humor" like posing French as crazy frog-eaters and so on.

Why is EP the best faction?
    1: red
2: nords are good drinking buddies
3: argonians have the best dank
4: king in the north > queen in the south
5: DC is full of milk drinkers
6: most diverse; we have a beast race, black elves, and drunk vikings

    Why not?
Any raid leader in Kaal gets crucified by zone chat so now all we have is siegeless pugs camping the walls of empty keeps.

You're almost right, the Dunmer are very close to the title of "Scummiest race in Tamriel." Unfortunately, nobody can beat the Altmer at being racist scumbags, even as valiant as the Dunmer's attempts to do so are.

The thing that confuses me most about the Ebonheart Pact is why the Dunmer ever would have allied with the dumb n’wahs. I would have thought the orcs or any of the other human groups more fitting allies. But then I’m also surprised that argonians would ally with Dunmer, unless that was part of ending slavery and hostilities (or supposed to be).

Cannot agree with you. This "Scummiest race in Tamriel", as you call us, has never really offended anyone outside our own homeland , has never waged any full scale offensive war to conquer any other peoples' lands and has never forced the spread of our religious beliefs. So at least it is unwise and impolite to come for a visit to someone's home and call the house owner the scummiest mer in Tamriel. That's what I've stated in the first post here above: ungratefulness, aggresiveness and short memory are key features of most of the other races of Tamriel.

All the Pact needs in Cyrodiil is to try to win every campaign in order to prevent the foundation of another Empire of one race to dominate all the other for we are the Alliance of equals and stand for freedom to everyone. And of course we are eager to earn AP, gold, gear, etc. The more of us out there, the better it is. So join our cause - join the Pact :)! Victory for the Three.
