What if vigor was a medium armor skill instead of evasion?

    No.

HA meta is a consequence of high burst dmg
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

You suggestion makes sense, but then you would infuriate everyone who thinks heavy armor tanks are already OP. As a primary stam player in PVE it would avoid the unnecessary PVP grind to get vigor to begin with

Thing is, it doesn't really matter. You can get both regardless of the build.

At what cost? Precluding PvE tanks from ever slotting Vigor? Not saying all do but it is not an unreasonable thing for some PvE tanks to do.

When do we realize that PvP and PvE don't mix and should be balanced separately? Is not 5 years of failing to balance the two together long enough to realize it is a bad idea?

because in pve, tank always got a heal (in trial and dungeon) it's only recently that heals were not needed anymore.

this will prevent heavy armor build from getting a heal (vigor) and push more people to play in medium for this heal (vigor)

But you don't have to wear medium to slot evasion, you just have to level up medium armor to level 22. So if you swapped vigor for evasion, it would be the same thing. [EDIT: Oops, I'm wrong] Just as it is now, you don't have to be in PVP to slot vigor, even though you have to level up a PVP skill to get it.

I could've sworn you needed 5 pieces of medium to slot evasion. Did they change that?

Ahh, you're right. Forgot about that. My bad

As I said, this would be a PvE restriction when no one in PvE cares or needs to restrict a tank from slotting Vigor if the tank wants to. My tank sometimes does indeed slot vigor when running pugs - and has saved many lives doing so. Restricting PvE for the sake of PvP. . . again. Though I'm PvE only, I'm not trying to pick on or blame PvPers; my point is that the two simply do not mix, have never mixed. At 5 years and counting, how long will it take ZOS to realize that trying balance PvE and PvP together not only doesn't work but it drives an unneeded wedge of animosity between the two communities.

If the PvP community wants no Vigor with heavy armor and ZOS can arrange it without the restriction applying to PvE , that would be just fine. :)

Believe me, the "heavy armor meta" is mostly just Nords in Medium Armor with maxed resistances running Lingering Health potions.

    Or just buff medium armor.

So then what heal would stamina players use, if they opt for heavy armour? If you were to swap Vigor and Evasion around, you're making the choice between medium or heavy for the player, because Vigor is the only practical heal available to at least 4/6 of the stamina classes in the game. The choice shouldn't be made for players, there should always be a choice to be made between light/medium or heavy, damage/sustain or mitigation.

Taking vigor from heavy isn’t balanced because it would just kill the playstyle. People forget that medium provides much better stamina sustain and damage passives than heavy and you can still hit the resistance cap if you build for it.

This suggestion wouldn't change medium at all. It would just punish heavy.

If medium is under performing, find ways to improve medium. Nerfing heavy and light isn't the answer.

MA + vigor is weaker than HA + vigor. This change would kill stamclasses' builds.
