I can smell the servers melting already.

In all seriousness, the combination of server load, an engine not designed for flight (look how janky the dragons can be at times) and the fact the game world is designed to simulate size through its verticality and indirectness means it would be ridiculously impractical.

    @Katahdin

I was just trying to ignore that as I have no idea what the hell it was.

There aren't "baby dragons". Adult dragon. Or dead and buried adult dragon. Even in Elseweyr the dragons are adult dragons. Outside of Abnur's little "incident" that is confined to one zone, there aren't thousands of dragons running around to play taxi for dragonborn wanna-bes.

Why anyone would want a mammoth skin for a mount, I have no idea. Unless they really shrink it, think of all the places a mammoth mount wouldn't fit.

Zos has said no. That the foundation for a flying mount is not in the game and it seems they have no plans to add that to all the zones we already have.

of course you can, just so long as you don't mind it flying 2 feet above the terrain.

Take a standard mount, give the legs a clear texture and voila, flying mount.

That may look a little silly so perhaps they could do a flying carpet or a goku cloud or something....

Even though I loved flying in wow, quit wow and decided not to return to it only because of the no-flying they have now..
Sad, I find flying in BFA very handy.

What do u think peeps? I think it would be cool with some flying mounts, but idk if the zones r too small for it thou!
And it should be like a skill u have to buy, like in WoW! Not in crown store, just for in-game money! And mount should u buy though the Crown Store like u can do right now!

What about a flying dragon mount!? <3

We can't even swim under water. I seriously doubt flight will ever happen.
I'd prefer swimming over flying tbh.

Technical limitations of the game engine not withstanding the design of the existing lands doesn't really provide any advantage to being able to fly. I also would rather ZOS not spend time going back to make the old areas flyable and instead spend time fixing game bugs or providing new content. One thing I wouldn't mind is if a new area was created with flying in mind from the beginning. However I suspect that would open Pandora's Box and players would expect flying in everywhere from then on.

No. I don’t feel that it would fit, although a gryphon would lore-wise, it still seems out of place to me in an Elder Scrolls game. I would rather have additional movement capabilities through magic, such as levitate as you could in Morrowind, and that mostly because I want to create a wizards tower only accessible my such magic! ;)

GW2 has semi-flying mounts that are very fun, but I don’t feel that it would be as fitting in ESO where all mounts currently have the same movement.

Probably the flying mount is impossible to make.
      Because ZoS has no technology.
