MagSorc scamp pet seems bugged: dies all the time!

Hello,

anyone noticed how the scamp pet seems to die 3 times as much than yesterday? Like it was in Elsweyr PTS, but it got fixed before Elsweyr got released.

I always do the same dailies every day since 2 years, including always the same world bosses and...

... today it was unplayable. I spent more time resummoning the pet than playing!

More players (on bug reports forum) found out what I suspected: sorc pets lost resistances again, like it happened in Elsweyr PTS.
Therefore, now they die 3 times as often!

Please fellow sorcs check your pet out and report here.

Scamp is still on most meta magsorc builds even as of today.

Is it just the scamp? I've not noticed it with the clannfear. The amount of healing it does has definitely dropped though.

Summon Unstable Clannfear (morph): Reduced the healing granted from the special activation of this ability by approximately 14% to ensure it’s in line with other burst heal abilities, such as Rushed Ceremony or Dragon’s Blood.

I already knew that, just confirming that it's noticable, though not as bad as some are reporting. I have to hit it an extra time perhaps to fully heal from something pretty nasty like a sudden slap in the face from a dragon lol

I didn't test the healing yet but i did notice that in mainland PVE (!!) I had to keep summoning it back because it'd die at random. Wtheck
PC/EU - PVE 2H stam orc petsorc (meta, what meta?) ww - terrible dps - mediocre player - fun times - free ww bites to whomever asks so don't be shy if interested

Either you do not want yo put Entroy/soultrap dot or aoe skills.

Scamp taking two slots and useless comparing Entropy/soultrap.

Why should I conform to moronic NB-clone gameplay, when I rolled:

    1) A mage
    2) An AoE class
    3) A summoneer class?

I'll keep playing exactly that, until my sub expires. I won't let some random developer in a closet to decide how I like to play the product I pay.

Well, you should be using the Clannfear (if solo, otherwise Radiating Regen) for the heals and the Twilight Tormentor for the damage now. The sorcerers freaking out about the changes are just not adapting. I did just fine on the PTS with some changes. Pets are still very much viable.

Stack and rotate through your dots and channel heavy attacks - I've been using this strategy since 2015 and it's still effective. Infallible Aether is such an amazing set - my ability bar has changed through the years, but this one set has been a staple of mine. Scalebreaker patch is buffing my Sorcerer, not nerfing it. Ignore the meta, think for yourself.

If that's working for you, great. But this post isn't about which pets to use for the most DPS, or which heal better.

Pets seem to be taking more damage. Are they not getting their owner's resistances? Did their max health drop? They seem to be dying faster.

I found it very noticeable in vMA last night. I'm new to vMA and finally got my first clear Wednesday night before the event started. One-a-day clears since, and it's been getting steadily easier as I've gotten the hang of the mechanics. Last night though, lots of resummoning pets.

Hardened Ward is actually about 2k higher than it was before, because of the build I'm using. The matriarch isn't adding much damage now, and elemental blockade ticks for less, so maybe there's more incoming damage because mobs are living longer? Not sure, but my experience of it has been that pets are squishier.

Hoping to test a bit soon, compare damage I take from a mob versus what my pet takes from the same mob. If resistances are shared, that damage should be the same, yeah?

On having a bit more of a playthrough last night I came to the conclusion that the clannfear also seems to have turned a tad wimpy. I did notice it dying much more easily fighting dragons in Elswyer, but then they can one-shot pretty much anything if you time it wrong. Elsewhere it wasn't really as noticeable. Definitely having to jab the heal a lot more though.

I must say though that it seems more fun, it was a little too easy in PvE just letting the pet tank things while I blasted them from a distance. I know that's the point, but when a summoned clannfear can stand there and hold three regular clannfears while I slaughter them, it does seem a bit OP.

Scamp also doesnt get Matriarch heals now that it´s gone, so it dies more, but yeah, it dies faster.

This thread is not about pets usefulness, DPS or whatever.

It's about the fact that we had the same identical bug during a previous expansion PTS, we reported it and the developers fixed it before the expansion went live.

Basically, pets have some > 90% resistance to damage, when they are bugged that resistance is 30% - 60% and they die far more often.

In addition to that, yesterday I had the curse ability randomly getting disabled in one (just one) vSS trial room.
