Normal vs Veteran Trials?

Been playing for nearly 5 years but only just recently started doing Trials. Started off with Normal, but i'm definitely interested in doing Vet Trials too. What i'm wondering though, is what the difference is. Is it similar to Dungeons where it basically just gets harder, or are there additional mechanics added in? I'm mostly concerned with Sunspire, as it's the only Trial i'm interested in atm cuz i want False God's Devotion (preferably perfected).

VMOL, VHOF, and VAS are much, much, much more difficult than their normal counterparts. Like night and day.

As for the Craglorn 3, there is a noticable step-up in difficulty. Mechanics play a larger role, as in they actually play a role. In AA and HRC, its the same mechanics but they inflict higher damage and can wipe the group. In SO, they definitely can kill a raid in that the AIDS will kill you, and everyone, if you catch and spread it.

Sunspire is right in the middle of the dichotomy, but you are mostly fighting glitches and lag.

I'd jump into the vet pool with AA or HRC first. You will be familiar with the mechanics, will likely know what to do, or at least figure it out quickly once you see the amount of damage you will be taking. Big upside is that so many people that do them have done them dozens of times. You can fade into the background and watch others to learn, unless you are killing the add on the Christmas Tree in AA or dancing in circles on the first boss in HRC.

Either way, let everyone know its your first time in vet in chat and people will be happy to call out what to do through the run. You'll be fine. Good luck!

EDIT: Saw you wanted perfected False God's. Imperfect is still a beast. And unless they re-fixed the chests, the only way to get perfected False God's are drops from the 3 bosses. Totally doable, but will require a lot more farming.

Not much to add to the previous response other than vet trials do require more communication, and most groups at least want you listening to voice comms. If you are on PC NA , feel free to hit me up, I run with a pretty chill progression group that is always looking for fills, and we will take new people as long as they are willing to learn and listen.

The key differences between vet a norm are:
    • Things hit harder. A lot harder.
    • Mechanics become far less optional and you can cause wipes by an individual failure on many trials.
    • You need higher damage numbers. Substantially so. This is to compensate for the much higher health of the bosses
    • Co-ordination becomes king. If your group can't co-ordinate to the necessary degree, it's game over. This can be as little as just knowing what they need to do with no voice comms in the Crag trials, to needing calls and clear positioning (vAS, for example)

In effect, vet is a lot stricter and less forgiving with mistakes. Almost everyone, if not everyone, needs to be on top of mechanics and dealing good damage. Often there will be more mechanics, or mechanics you previously could completely ignore (Sunspire portals and ice prisons) become prominent. There may be new attacks and additional debuffs to healing or resistances.

Sunspire is, in my opinion, the easiest vet trial if you are in a co-ordinated group because the fights are very predictable. However, unlike norm, it can fall apart much faster and you need the damage to prevent things like adds building up.

Compare normal and vet trial is like compare how to do a trash mob and a world boss Alone.

There is different "skill check" for trials

First, do the holy craglorn trinity : vAA, vSO, vHRC, then do the HM

I think that vAS+1 and vAS+2 are way way harder than most of the other trials, but vAS is really really easy.

In my opinion vMoL is équivalent to vSS (because in vSS you have a minimum dps to have) and vCR in skill lvl

Then you have the hardest trials in my opinion : vHoF, vCR+1, vCR+2, vHoF HM, vCR+3.

I dont really know where to put vSS HM but i think it is equivalent to vHoF HM ?

    All depend of your rôle

If you are a dps, you have to find tour stuff in normal trial (so I guess you are magicka : false god/siroria/Mother sorrow/vMA inferno Staff) and train your rotation to have a good dps, the more dps you have, the more easy the trial is

If you are a tank, train to keep your debuff and buff up, you need to learn how to place the boss, how to create a pack, must of all stay Alive, consider that if you die, thé all group die..

If you are a heal, then train to maintain all your buff and debuff up, provided ressources every 20 seconds, you also need to learn to place your self behind the group of dd (so your dds have to learn how to pack and stop running around, good luck with that haha, the more they move, the more they die). You also need to learn the differents steps in a fight :when you have to burst heal, when you have to purge, when you can refresh your buff...

My advice is to find a guild a progress guild currzntly learning it step by step. If People are really invest in the trial, and train often their dps, trust me you will progress fast

best vet trial to start with is AA the Mechs are exactly the same as normal only the DPS checks are far more punishing, complete that then try the hard mode, do that and move on to HRC (alot easier than it used to be) again complete vet then try with the horn then HM, same with SO vet, meatbag, HM
