U23 Magsorc Nerfs are Brutal

Went into IC, got destroyed, respecced, got destroyed. Rage cancelled my ESO plus subs.
I simply cant survive with no shield, no heal ZOS was that REALLY neccesary?
Ya ya git gud and adapt I suppose...but good god man thats going overboard!

Other classes are of course skipping down the street in delight while sorc main players feel violated.

The healing and ward nerds were big, but WTF us up with the change to twighlight? A 69% reduction? That's more, a lot more, than half lol! Has it really been THAT OP for all this time? If so how did it take so long to nerf? Can someone point me to the thought process there? Not sure where to find that.

Healing Ward and Regeneration got buffs, so if anything healing got better. Are you using a Resto Staff?

You might also need to wear some gear with the Impenetrable trait.

This is nothing new, Zos has been killing Mag users for year(s). If you're talking about Power surge, Yes wth is up w/ make it a skill for heal crit, and not adding Spell damage to the other morph. again, want whatever theyre smoking.

could of lived with most the nerf's but the nerf to power surge was a step to far.

power surge gain Major Brutality and Major Sorcery procs from crit heal
crit surge gain Major Brutality procs from crit damage and heals

The Sorcerer nerf is, I agree, brutal. If nerfing an ability by 70% seems okay, it must be very, very overpowered before. It would require that the (previous) designer overdid the damage by a factor of THREE. That would be a jod done very, very badly. I have trouble seeing that with the Twilight Matriarch.

If the flapping wings got nerfed by 70%, I'd understand. But the damage/healing?

Its the combined nerfs that were, at best, debilitating.

The power surge nerf is the straw that broke the camel's back.

I mean I get it I could slot degeneration, but its not as good or reliable. Add a VISIBLE element to Degeneration and it might work so we have at least a visual queue when it wears off, but I really don't understand the nerf to power surge. It was the ONLY reliable heal for MagSorcs and viable one with the buffs than slotting a stupid pet.

I'm glad I won't be playing this game for much longer. Lots of nicer games out there on the horizon.

Never used a pet [snip]. I hated pets. Still no real reason why they nerfed Power Surge.

Yes, it has! You were carried by the Twilight. It's been ridiculous. I usually play magblade. I cannot even touch a half-decent pet sorc in PvP, because of the sheer damage they do. I then took my own pet sorc, which I hardly ever play, into vMA and demolished it, despite being clumsy and unfamiliar with the build.

Pets were unpopular. ZOS buffed the crap out of them, because they (a) have no sense of proportion and (b) wanted to promote pets. Pets, or specifically the twilight, became popular. It got nerfed. That's how it goes. It's an MMO. There is no balance, just developer knee-jerk reactions, based on the popularity of stuff.

I tried defending the class and was told by another person that I was "QQing" for questioning/discussing the changes. (Actually she said "[pets are free damage in trials]" as justification, but I doubt that was what warranted it.)

I don't main or have played the class in over a few years now, so I won't question or defend the class any more.
Toxic people can die with the game is how I now see it, should this behaviour from both ZoS and players continue.
It's just and a sad just it is.

People will be happy that not only the overperforming abilities got gutted but instead the whole class got hammered.
That´s until in a week or two they notice it takes considerably longer to do sorc quests in cyro.
And in one or two months they realize that sorcs are all but extinct in pvp.

Better utterly gutted than damned into mediocrity though. Atleast broken gets eventually fixed in 6 to 12 months. Mediocrity lasts forever.

Not even intending to make fun of sorcs - since it´s my main class since launch in 2014.

It´s just reality that due to 2 overperforming abilities and some perception problems of the non shield using playerbase the majority of ppl will rejoice about the nerfs directly after patch.
It´ll take time to settle in that the class didn´t only receive justified adjustments in the right places but instead got destroyed.

People will eventually realize that mag sorc in 5.1.x is meme quality though. That´s why i said better destroyed than mediocre. People realize it faster and narrative will change.
