Does Purchased Skill Lines Negate Skill Points?

As many of you know, advancing through some skill lines (Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Psijic, etc.) awards you with skill points as you are doing the quests. What I'm curious about is if I purchase the fully leveled skill tree can I still go back and do the quests to get the skill points or are they forfeited?

I can't say for certain but they should be independent of each other. The skill points are quest awards, regardless of how far you have advanced the guild line. You can get both TG and DB far advanced by just doing the repeatable quests, and but doing the story quests that have skill point awards.

Skill points aren’t included in the crown purchase ... but they aren’t forfeited if you want to go back and do the quests.

I would agree, but you never know with ZOS :) I was just trying to get a confirmation to make sure that if I wanted, I can gain a few skill points just by going ahead and doing those quests anyway.

Good to hear. That will make the purchase a bit more bearable :)

Don't forget you can also buy Skyshards now, winner, winner! I think.

I did the DB thing on an alt ages ago, so I bought the skill line for my main character like.. last year sometime I think.
I was busy doing a million other things and didn't get around to working on it till just now.
    I searched on and off for months. M O N T H S. To find the quest.

Just wanna say if anyone runs into the problem of not knowing where to start the DB Main Quest after purchasing the skill line (bc I spent way too much time bumbling around trying to figure it out not finding anyone in outlaw refuges and being locked out of the sanctuary lol)

Quest starts right in the Anvil Lighthouse.

It was confusing to me because there's been nothing in my quest journal even though under collections>stories it says "quest accepted"
I know, I have more than my fair share of these moments. You're welcome. XD
