Same. I was floored at how well FF played even though the combat was slower than ESO before level 50. Although I'm on PC atm. I do love the crossplay for FF14 between PS4 and PC. I also like that if I wanted to play on PS4 it would carry over I just need to buy a PS4 copy of FF.
that said... i have to ask.. what do you all expect ZoS to do right now? today? do you honestly think they can just...whip up a fix in a space of a weekend?
I often see a reply like this, and I have to ask...
How is it that literally every game can hot fix issues usually within an hour that takes Zos 3 months (if we're lucky) to get around to?
it does not take every other game to fix issues like that in an hour? best case scenario issues that go that deep takes them months. worst case scenario you have WoW where there are bugs that were there at LAUNCH and that game is almost 15 years old.
stop
exaggerating.
please.
ZoS have done their share of quick hotfixing... when they actualy COULD hotfix things.
Only thing I've ever seen them hotfix was the crown store.
The bug that wouldn't let you reorder your characters on the log in screen? That took 3 months.

right... because multiple incremental patches that they released the day after something easily fixable breaking - don't exist. and all those patch notes that can still be scrolled and read through are just fake news >_>
i'm not being an apologist. i'm saying that this incessant nagging especially about things that they have addressed and GAVE AN ACTUAL TIMELINE FOR is not fixing anything.
I'm not denying there are performance issues. i haven't run a random dungeon in EU in a while, because whether it actualy pops - is a crap-shoot. i have crashed to login screen as recently as today. i KNOW THE GAME HAS ISSUES. SO DOES ZoS.
all I'm trying to do here is to acknowledge that they are NOT ignoring us, and that they ARE publicly acknowledging the issues. i'm just trying to give them credit when credit is due.
Did you not read the beginning two sentences in this post, or did you just automatically jump in on the defensive?
I read it. and I reread it. and your point is? if they could hotfix this? they would. since they are not hotfixing it, this means that the issue is most likely related to framerate and animation processing issues they have mentioned that they are working on. given that the game freezes up on you when there there is multitude of effects on the ground/extensive ability use. couple that with a load on a server with multiple people trying to do the same thing and... how do you expect them to hot fix something that seems to be related to the issue they have a timeline for?
but sure, call me apologist and the reply with equivalent of "u mad?" when i call you out on it.

They're talking about the first two sentences of the OP. Again, reading everything people say is helpful.I realize performance updates are coming. I'll be the first to lift my glass in toast if things get back to just a normal state.
If you don't like reading performance complaint threads ... don't read them. ❤️

ah, so despite you replying to a post when you claimed that they don't hotfix things outside of crownstore, and me calling that out as false" we are back to just the first post? ok then.
not to mention i was originally replying to FF post and not your OP, before you decided to jump in and suggesting why it may have better performance than ESO combat. slower combat = more time for the engine to process player actions = less load on hardware AND server. but I guess changing goalposts is the name of the game.

I agree. If anything, the constant promises of fixing things in the past, with a lack of actual fixes has earned them doubt. They've watched performance tank for 5 years. Its understandable how players can question thier resolve.
Definitely taking a wait and see approach...still doesn't do much for current frustrations..😖

I would say BECAUSE combat is slower. more time for the game to process animations etc, vs ESO where with weaving and all that other crap - the game has to process so many different actions from so many players in so little time.
