Most stamina builds. Just cut out the "flavor" class skill and substitute a weapon skill instead.

My Stam sorc could sub DW's Blade Cloak for Hurricane and feel very similar.

I have a Templar whose front board is all two-handed skills... It's great for running around gathering and clearing zones. And my Nightblade crafter uses a similar set up.

Stam Sorc has nearly no actives. Atro backbar, Hurricane and mabye1- 2x Bound Armor for the passives. Sub Atro for Bow Ulti and it's as classless as it gets.

Or just use something like this:

Rending, Crushing Weapon, Rearming Trap, Deadly Cloak, Whirlwind- Flawless DB
Arrow Barage, Caltrops, Poison Injection, Soul Trap, Vigor - Bow Ulti

Reliqien, Lokke, vMA Bow, any monster set

ah yea that's right, pubg is infamous when compared to eso because of it's lack of class skills

because the only thing that defines mmorpg games is whether or not they have class systems built in and whether or not those classes have different colours on the FX for their abilities

I do not disagree. But we have a bit of time to kill, and no running away from the new reality of the game (hopefully just a short term reality with greater improvements to come).

If an account has already unlocked access to the 'buyable' skill lines, and CP 810+ is available, what can be made without a class? For those against "pay to play", perhaps the exercise proves the point? For those that don't mind, it could give something new to try?

So in this experiment, weapon and armor would still need to be leveled up. Any other crucial skill line that could not be bought or avoided?

So swordsman, or archer are not identities, they have to be enhanced by sparkly magic skills to be of use?

This from a petsorc with a day-glow purple pet.

Think I might try a new character this way at some point, just use what class passives I can. It'd be nice to just use either a blade or a bow, or a staff or whatever, then just augment it with guild and world skills.

I don't see the connection between being restricted by classes and either MMO or RPG. Granted they are not MMOs but Oblivion had a 'class' system that was delightfully meaningless. Skyrim had no class system at all and your character developed based on how you played. Though ESO is my one (and likely only) forray into MMO, I don't see how being an MMO requires classes.

I cut my MMORPG teeth on Asheron's Call. There were no classes. You had access to all skills, just needed the skill points to invest. So you could run around with a bow shooting, heal casting, jewelry maker with ease. And as with most any RPG, soon expert players found ways to min/max even in that environment.

    A) comparing mmos with single player rpg's is deliberately ignorant
    B) asking for classless builds shortly before a patch that erodes class identity even further after this having been one of the major complaints of recent years is simply twisting the knife in the wound
    C) a classless system in an mmo would be either not varied at all resulting in everyone playing the same builds or even harder to balance
    D) and no class and role are not certainly linked but because of said reasons in mmo playing a class is mostly an integral aspect of the experience and strongly linked to the role

and yeah, im perfectly fine if ESO scraps all the classes altogether and moves towards the same direction as the single player games with a hundred interesting skills you can combine and match how you want to create your own builds - for example something the secret world has done very well - but do you honestly think for ONE SECOND with the level of "competence" zos has demonstrated in balancing classes that this would result in a balanced but varied and satisfying experience???

Sure thing, but OP asked for a classless build.

However, I'm a bit upset with the current approach. Classes are loosing more and more uniqueness.
First DKs lost their unique feature with the FG pull. Then a dark deal clone popped up in the Psijiic Line. Now NBs will chose their better fear from a guild line as well and sorcs minor expedition is not only granted via sets but via a staff skill as well.

If they continue to stay on this path classes will become more and more irrelevant. Can't wait for the patch that will bring class passives in line, so every class has exactly the same.

tough luck...some people dont like the constant whining from pvpers ruining their pve experience...

ZOS cant balance the current system while keeping it varied and interesting. In a classless system they would have to dumb everything so down that everyone would play exactly the same - cause thats exactly the way we are heading now...

You know who doesnt do this? Just the most succesful mmos on the planer...wonder why...

Ok by "not use" you mean not slotted any class skill also, regardless if used or not?

    For Stamina
If on the above question the answer is YES. Then Dragonknight and put all the passives. (you need active skills slotted to level them but you can remove them afterwards).

If on the above question the answer is NO. Then Templar, NB & Necromancer and see on the passives which slotted abilities give the bonuses you like. (again you do not have to use the abilities just benefit from the slotted passives).

    For Magicka
Either Sorcerer or Warden will do in any answer.

However if you plan not to level at all any of the class abilities hence not use any of the passives, good luck to you. You will change your mind as soon as you will realise your mistake.

Valid point. A truly classless build, one not making use of any class skills, would indeed be challenged on the passives front. So there is still value to a class!

I must admit I was originally frustrated by stam builds that made such heavy use of weapon skills while seeming to neglect the class skills. It would be nice to see class again have a greater value... or go classless and allow all skills to be accessed!

Depending on what you're planning to play you may want to consider going stam/mag hybrid. I had great fun playing my hybrid dps in ordinary content. Of course, endgame is out of reach then but meh.
You can access and utilize so much more skills. It's a shame they created this stam/mag divide in the first place. However, you will be a bit limited in set choices then.
