Just wondering if with the "new" changes and all will MagDk's finally see some love, what with being a dot class and that? I am hoping so but honestly will play it anyways cuz its fun. But always good to know you're playing a class that can stand its own, so to speak.
And yea, Mag classes will pretty much use the same 3 dots (lol people calling them new) but just when I was getting used to the chains and such ZOS drops these changes. Ah well, gotta mix things up now and then I guess keep it fresh! ;)

    I plan on creating a fire only build using the new powered up elemental succession. :Joy:

    It’s gonna be close to if not bang on the meta for a MagDK. Given there can’t be a front bar set like MA any more due to too much time on the back bar you need a proc buff front bar set. This is limited to just a few viable sets. For dummy parses it’s Siroria of course but in actual content it’ll generally be one of BSW, Master Architect, Spell Strat or if you’re a MagDK or Magcro Elemental Succession is also viable.

    how about Spell Strategist + Elemental Succession? 1387 spell damage before any bufs.

    i think it is possible to reach old school 6k spell damage on DK (nirn front bar, elf, apprentice, courage, infused bers back bar and both sorcery buffs).

    as a DK lover and PVE player i'm eager to test my mDK next patch. Shame is i'm on PS4 so still 3 weeks :neutral:

    Since last patch i've seen already an increase to DPS due to whip changes only downside is the dumb rotation we need to squeeze it up (it's chainspam or recast engulfing/ember claw/inferno before you would need to).

    They nerfed eruption so much that i probably wont even bother using it anymore since it's so expensive.

    New destructive reach looks wonderful on a mDK tho (engulfing+claw+reach+burning= a lotta Dot all fire-dmg based).

    magdk is highest pve dps right now. not that it means much but i'ts nice that they get some spotlight.

    @jypcy check Liko's channel soon. They said they were updating parses in order from weakest to strongest, and the last one left is magDK. idk if they uploaded yet. There'll be a full video parse of it when it uploads. Right now we have templar at 97k so magDK will be higher.

    the reason it's highest magdps is because it's a dot class, and now dots are crazy powerful.

    Ah, did you mean highest magicka dps as opposed to highest overall? Yeah, I think he still has magden and magdk to go. Highest non-Liko magden and magdk parses I’ve seen are about 97k each, so after the 98k stamblade one today I’m interested to see how high they reach.

    But here I was thinking they had magically leapt above stamcro lol

    I have just swapped all my gear from my MagPlar and will be playing my MagDK this patch. It's always been my favorite class, but Templar was what I brought to most content due to being fully ranged. This patch, however, the templar rotation feels so boring. Right now on my MagDK I'm having a lot of fun. I've so far hit 80k but want to do a few tweaks to the rotation.

    Dots are hitting hard. Embers is strong. Engulfing’s first hit is strong af. I know Entropy isn’t a class skill but Entropy is DROPPING fools.

    The nerfs to costs of certain skills (Fossilize, Entropy in particular) are noticeable. Running 1400 recovery I never got low on magicka (45-47k) but noticed it a bit.

    MagDk is in a good place. Not OP but on par with other classes if that was the point.
