[Connection Issues] Could we get a weekly connection report

My disconnection issues had finally cleared and on PC(NA) I was getting around 100 ping.
Then suddenly it started inching up again and now I occasionally get spkes of +50 to +200 or more. It comes and goes so I'm guessing the situation is temporary in some way, either ZOS testing something or server suddenly overloaded by some situation.

Could we get a weekly summary of what ZOS is doing at their end, or server load issues, or other connection issues, to keep us in the loop?
I don't want to send in bug reports all the time (and get a useless prefab "do-this" response that won't change anything).

Are you a Shareholder? That will be the only way you might get weekly reports of what ZoS is doing on their end.

You have no more entitlement to weekly reports of the behind the scenes workings of ZoS than you do for your utility or cable provider.

These requests and demands for information, communication, and reports is just getting asinine.

Connection issues covers a very broad area. Most connection issues related to ping are not anything directly related to Zos.

Your data crosses a lot of real-estate going through hundreds and possibly thousands of miles of glass and countless pieces of equipment and splices that all affect your ping and can vary over time. Heck, even in your own home there is the protentional for activity to affect your ping.

Basically, Zos likely has nothing to do with what you are speaking of.

I agree with the above responses, but in any event the way to deal with performance issues is through the appropriate technical forum for your platform, giving as much detailed information as possible about your system specs, location, ISP and game issues. Bug reports are just that, for reporting bugs in the game, not technical issues with its performance. It's also desirable to engage with your ISP as there may be network issues that they can assist with, e.g. by re-routing your connection to the server.

I don't think it's so much to ask to know what the load is like at the moment or if there were huge spikes during the week.
Some MMO's let you know what the current server status (is it really busy? near capacity?) is like before you try logging into that server, for example.

And you are assuming that there is absolutely nothing at ZOS's end. That may be the case, but it's nice to have something ruled out for sure if you're trying to troubleshoot. Otherwise you might be asking someone else (e.g., your ISP) to waste time investigating something they have no chance of finding.

I was going to say MUCH more about this statement, but I'll leave it at:

Good Luck - and yes I do think that is too much to ask.

First, I am not assuming Zos never has anything to do with our ping and it is absurd to think so. It is you that is clearly placing the blame of your ping spikes on Zos and ignores the bulk of what affects ping is well before we reach the ESO servers.

OP - You need to do a traceroute to the correct ESO IP address FIRST.

There are detailed instructions about how to do this on the ESO support website.

To begin, read the following two pages:

    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9094/kw/traceroute

    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30903/kw/traceroute

Be sure to note the two IPs given at the top of the page.

    Then you can read: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37818/kw/connection

If you follow the instructions above, you will get an idea if the problem is your ISP (packet loss, for example). A "fast" connection is not always a *stable* connection.

One other thing to try: Check, and then check again, to see that you have ESO listed as an exception with your antivirus program.

I get a great connection even when I use my cell phone as a hot spot to play ESO (even having only 2 signal bars) so I doubt there is anything on ZOS end causing your connection problems.
