9 stages, 4-5 rounds each, the fact that it takes so long and yet the percentage rate dropping of the style pages is under 10% seems like a kick in the face to anyone who doesn't want to do VMA 900 times.

✭✭Not everyone wants to do VMA anymore than they have to. I've completed it. Got what I wanted from it.. now I thought it'd be possible to farm regular MA to get the style pages, but out of 10 runs nothing has dropped.2 -

There are a whole lot of problems with this argument ... let's go through each one, shall we?
1. vMA weapons are only available on the Vet difficulty version of the Arena. Only the players who have worked hard to achieve a build and gameplay to complete it are rewarded. If players want to proudly display the style, the style pages should reflect the level of content the player has cleared. Consider yourself lucky they even drop on normal ... or are on sale for tickets or crowns.
2. The difficulty spike between normal and veteran is huge with normal being absurdly easy. Why should a player be rewarded for completing content they can do with both eyes closed?
3. Any completionist player knows they have to try different types of content in ESO to complete their achievements and outfit styles. Maelstrom is no different. Working hard on different playstyles is eventually rewarded. No free passes though.16 -

There should be more incentive to do normal maelstrom if only to show people that its not the impossible task that they think it is. I do it on fresh alts with crafted sets. I also do vet maelstrom on my main but dont believe it should be the only way to get style pages.
If we start excluding people from events they just wont log in at all and the game will be empty.9 -

ZOS gives you everyone alternatives to obtaining the styles through gold, tickets and/or crowns. Two of them are tied directly with the event, doing the dailies for your two tickets and farming the double nodes in Wrothgar to sell for gold which you can buy from other players who are able to clear vMA.Get rid of faction locks.2 -

I actually want normal maelstrom and normal DSA to drop imperfected weapons, so that the best weapons are rewarded for the hardest work done, but options are there for entry level folks.
I know I'm not the one you quoted, but I agree (partially) with their OP. I'd like to see a 1/3 drop chance for normal imho. Figure a clear takes 30 minutes on normal for me, takes around an hour on vet.4 -

You literally said it yourself, how easy it is. I do normal MA with level 3 characters with no gear except the starting generic weapon plus what they find in the chests and no champion points assigned, and I'm a tank main. Anyone who thinks normal MA is in any way difficult is just wrong and one attempt from knowing better. It's so easy it would be completely OTT to let the motif drop freely in normal. Sure if you're doing VMA anyway for the double drops, it makes sense, but normal MA drops crappy stuff, so doesn't it make sense to buy them with tickets? I'm confused by the whole thing to be honest. I don't particularly like the style myself but I get that some people want it to be exclusive to those who've completed VMA.
I assumed that you HAD to do MA to get them, then I went to get my next berry and saw the pages. Personally I'd prefer the event merchant to have Trinimac and Malacath pages instead. I couldn't epeen with my VMA weapon if I didn't actually HAVE a VMA weapon (which I don't), I'd feel a bit fake

Why is style pages "a kick in the face". Vet drops the actual weapons. That's your "but vet should give more!"
As others have pointed out, the pages can also be grabbed for tickets or traded. So there's no Super Special Ego Bonus for the styles. Again, that's what the actual weapons are for.
If you want to argue "they should be Special™", you should also be arguing for none available for tickets & that they should be untradable, so that only people who've run vMA can have them at all. (Honestly, buying them is so much more trivial than running nMA for one. "You shouldn't get them from nMA, you should get them for gold!" sounds completely absurd.)4 -

Tickets are limited. You can only get, at most, 24 if you do the required content each day during this event. Indrik berries, if you want to evolve, are also only available during the events and only by event tickets. I haven't looked at the Impressario yet, but there are 10 different weapons styles (axe, battle-axe, bow, dagger, mace, maul, shield, staves, sword, and greatsword) so if things like sword and greatsword are separate pages which I believe they are, you can't even earn enough event tickets this event to buy them all at 5 tickets apiece.

Another poor argument.
Using this logic, anyone that runs Sunspire on normal difficulty should be awarded the Sunspire Senche mount ... since only titles reflect a player's ability and build theorycrafting.
By the way, the drop rate on pages has not been totally awful. Since the Event started, I've received two (2) pages in nine (9) normal Maelstrom runs. That's a 22% drop rate.

lol, no. I don't mind grinding vMA since I need to stock up on Dual Wield drops so 2 birds 1 stone. Also wrong. If you don't want to slog through vMA, then either get to grinding more normal, or spend money/tickets on getting the pages. Stop acting like you're entitled to the same reward as people who actually put the effort to blitz through vMA repeatedly.
