Can we get a story mode for dungeons ?

I played one of the dungeons involving Hircine a few days ago, the area looked amazing, and the story seemed interesting. Sadly I couldn't actually pay much attention to it since the players I was running the dungeon with were rushing through it. I like taking my time when I discover a new area and having to rush through all that content really destroyed the experience for me.

As a new player I find it odd that dungeons don't have a story mode. A bunch of people worked on creating stories and areas for each dungeon but that's all kinda useless when most players just rush through the whole thing. Can't really blame them either, those players have probably played through those dungeons many times already. I just wish that there would be a story mode for dungeons for those who want to play for the story. Special loot would be locked out of this mode of course, same for achievements and special rewards. Please make this happen, I'm sure a lot of players would be interested in this.

So many people ask for this all the time. You'll get a lot of "form your own group" responses but honestly, I see no reason this should not be a thing. I don't want it, but if so many people do, then why not? Let them solo queue. Let them explore. Maybe code up three NPCs to run with people and play the other roles. They wouldn't be nearly as efficient as actual players, but they'd do the job for people who want to take their time and enjoy the scenery. No skin off my back.

I don't think it is an unreasonable request but a question, did you let the group know it was your first time and you were on the quest? If I know I will slow down as will many other players but if someone doesn't say anything we assume everyone has been through the dungeon many times already.

And please make the story-mode versions soloable for those of us who can't or don't want to group!

I would really love to see a "storymode" for dungeons... less rewards of course, no undaunted monster drops or daily completions, just go to see the story instead of speedrunning for drops.

With a power scale around public dungeon levels... meaning those who are good can easily solo it, and those who are not can make it through with one partner instead of having to bring the whole trinity...

I didn't. I thought it wasn't really fair of me to bother 3 players just so I could take my time exploring and following the story. I know some players wouldn't mind slowing down, but yeah. I just think adding a story mode for dungeons makes sense in a game like this, usually MMO's don't really have good stories but ESO does and I think it's a waste that things are the way they are right now when it comes to dungeons.

honestly I see the way stories work in the dlc dungeons to be bit more effective tbh.I know they are harder though, but if they eliminated the requirement of talking to npc's that would make following dialogue easier.Seeing as you don't have to be stationary to hear what they are saying.

I agree we should have a story mode for dungeons. It would be nothing more than an instance with no loot.

Should they nerf the boss's health and hit points? Not sure, but so what if they do, the purpose is not to claim some prize, but to enjoy the surroundings. Heck, make it so that they can be easily solo'd, again, its a Story Mode, so then people don't have group. This game has some beautiful dungeons, they should be savored.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes!!!!!! I want it! Then the only thing I would ever need to think about grouping up is for World bosses and the occasional Public dungeon boss.

They wouldn't even have to really touch the NPC's stats, they'd just have to buff the player to make it around the same difficulty as the main story. The main point of the mode would be to follow the story, nothing else. But yeah I've only played 2 dungeons so far and both were pretty good but the one with Hircine where you fight an Indrik I think ? That stuff was amazing. Again, I just wish I could've gone through it at my pace.

Story mode exists for almost all dungeons, with the exception of those that has mechanics that require an ally. That mode is called normal mode.

You can solo the non DLC dungeons in normal, and with a good build in vet also :)

even tho i wouldnt use it, it is a fine idea if some requieremets are met:

    1. No monstersets/trophys/dungeonsets
    2. You should be able to finish it alone/ max of 2 players

But i dont agree that there shouldnt be any loot, you could grant the overland sets of the region where the dungeon is placed just like in the open dungeons and they also should award you with the skillpoint for finishing the quest

Great idea, something I hope we see in the future.

Considering how full of lore the dungeons and the dungeon quests are it's sure worth it. A lot of people just rush through the dungeons, including myself. Because I'm not interested? Nope. Mainly because a lot of the time everyone is in a hurry.

So a story mode would be great! A mode where you can slow down and as already stated above, possibly solo it.
It would be great if there was a mode just so you could enjoy the story of dungeons and/or solo them.

Turn down gamma correction, switch to 1st person view, port into Fungal Grotto and keep looking up.

That dungeon is beautiful, especially the ceiling portions, which most people will never ever look at.

Even more so if you have a 3D setup like the nvidia 3D Vision. Every time a new zone comes out, i dust off my 3D glasses and go through the dungeons. It's pretty amazing how much detail you otherwise miss.

The easy solution is to form you own group with a specific purpose.

It is easy to do from a social guild but even is more serious guilds there are people who are interesting in smelling the roses along the way. I know this because I have joined such groups formed in my guilds.

i agree with op, there is a lot of story with full voice acting but you basically have to rush through it because people usually are not patient enough to wait for you, and it will take some time if you want to listen to it so you can not blame people also, some sort of story version with no reward wont hurt anyone but it will help players who like story.
