Templar jabs should proc weapon bleeds

The tooltip says "proc from melee damage" - jabs are melee

tooltip doesnt say direct damage or weapon damage - it says "melee" damage - seems like they need to either change it or adjust the wording...

I’m surprised it said that. I’ve only ever thought it was weapon skills and LAs/HAs.

Well, then every other melee ability should proc as well, shouldnt it? Why only jabs?
I think we are better off with a change to tooltips

well sure, thats what i mean... it just needs to be clear

someone in my other tread mentionned that jabs proc advancing yokeda - and the wording is exactly the same as with bleeds... zos really needs to be more clear on these things - and this isnt a new complaint... tooltips have been unclear for YEARS

Bleeds don't proc AY. The initial hit/s do.

    Biting Jabs: Cost: 2509 Stamina.
Launch a relentless assault, striking enemies in front of you four times with your Aedric spear. The spear deals [2310 / 2335 / 2360 / 2386] Physical Damage to the closest enemy and [896 / 905 / 915 / 924] Physical Damage to all other enemies. The final strike reduces the Movement Speed of the closest enemy by 70% for 2 seconds. Activating this ability grants you Major Savagery, increasing your Weapon Critical rating by 2191 for 8 seconds.

Doesnt say melee damage that it does. says it does physical damage. Yes it does seem like a melee attack but it doesnt say it does a melee attack. though that would make sense that it is a melee attack. Problem is that even the magicka damage would also be a melee attack damage but there is no such thing as magicka melee attack in this game.

Puncturing Sweep: Launch a relentless assault, striking enemies in front of you four times with your Aedric spear. The spear deals [2311 / 2335 / 2361 / 2387] Magic Damage to the closest enemy and [895 / 904 / 914 / 925] Magic Damage to all other enemies. The final strike reduces the Movement Speed of the closest enemy by 70% for 2 seconds. You heal for 40% of the damage done with this ability.

Given what it does, proc bleed damage from a melee attack seems OP

While I wouldn't mind poisons procing from jabs because it would be fun but you do realize other classes with melee based attacks would ask for the same thing like necros with scythe or DKs with either whips or their other melee attacks.

Then comes the irritating issue of classes that don't have class based melee attacks like stamn sorc or wardens who have more of aoes then actual melee attacks without having to delve into weapon skills.

If zos managed to actually balance classes and give each class a spammable melee class based skill for *mag and stamn* naturally then im sure the poison thing could be worked out.

But as it stands now making it so only templar would benefit from poisons on its jabs would alienate the rest of the classes and thus drive the attempt of balance further away *key note here I am not biased against plars I love my stamn plar ganker* but it would only make people hate plars and get them nerfed.

And if were being realistic templars aren't exactly going to be hurting come scalebreaker

Zos should simply correct the tooltip so it says what it actually does. Besides, that would be much easier than recoding the various melee skills.

    Eh.
I can see why a spear made of friggin glowy sun magic might cauterize wounds and thus come without bleed...

no i mean jabs proc ay

again i am not saying templars need special treatment - i am saying the tooltip should be clear and consistent - then the tooltip should be changed to make things clear - how freakin hard can it be to be consistent and clear in your descriptions and the words you use for certain things - EVERY MMO under the sun can do that - with the exception of zos who purposefully stays unclear

and yes jabs is a melee attack - melee means within 8m range has nothing to do with the type of damage or if its spear or glowing or whatever
