After they clipped wings I had the same issue and dueled a good friend whose a GREAT MagDk who’s also a great everything else. He hopped on a Sorc. He hopped on some NBs.

With Sorcs the key is pressure. Keep them recasting those shields. And you have to run wings and it has to be up. Eventually, you’ll catch them with the shields down. They’ll either die or have to streak. REALLY don’t chase. I got into a 1v1 with a AD Sorc (who got mopped) and these DC just stood around watching. I knew them and I know don’t respect a 1v1 in Cyro. They Zerg down everything. They WATCHED.

SnB wings this patch. It’s a lot of mitigation (like 90% vs projectiles). It’s kind of the way to go. The thing I noticed since wings stopped reflecting is that both Sorcs and mag NBS think they can brawl in melee range so they come in. They also seem to focus MagDk’s because I guess MagDk’s used to eat their lunch lol.

But you know this much. Neither class can go toe to toe in melee range for long. They’ll have to cloak or streak or shade.

The long and short of it is this. Keep pressure on them, especially sorcs. Get tanky as you can. If you can survive their burst you’re good. The thing with sorcs is they’ll seemingly be taking no damage so you might have a tendency to slack off on the offense. DON’T. Their shields are taking damage. Stay offensive.

I’m running SnB ice staff. The trick with MagDk is buff management. Keep your buffs up. Volatile Armor, cauterize. Keep your debuffs on them, structured Entropy, Ele Drain then EMBERS and Engulfing. Keep all that going.

KEEP embers on them. Run flame lash not molten and get those heals going. I run SnB/WINGS AND Race against time. 2 Chudan. (I got the idea for 2 Chudan from @Akinos. I saw him in game and had to THANK him. Wings AND RAT works outnumbered. 2 Chudan lets me). Like @Sypher used to run wings and mist (so I don’t have to run volatile). Dude it helps.

I have weapon damage glyph on the ice staff, empower from structured Entropy all that helps at range. I have major prophecy on the back bar plus the 10% Crit bonus from Rat. Run temporal guard as your back bar ulti. For minor protection. You can get tanky in light armor.

You can block cast on a MagDk and if you go SnB ice staff you can block a lot as ice staff uses magicka for blocking. It’s just the whole way a build works each part helping the other.
