New player - social + grouping

dragonblood
Hi

I'm from lotro and final fantasy

Does this game have good social and grouping?

I read I have to wait until lvl 50 to group or socialise and it's a one player game until then?

Can't u talk in guids and stuff?

Want to buy but need to know

Thanks

The solo content is made a big deal out of by players who clearly can't pass the content or lack the drive when the game gets hard, buy the game you wont regret it if you like exploration and challenges.

There are some solo instances (where grouping won't let more people in) but most of the game can be done in a group, and there are group-only dungeons as well. There's a zone chat that is quite active (which is and is not a good thing) and you can join up to 5 guilds and chat in them as much as you want regardless of level.

What you're probably hearing is a lot of the game uses phasing so you have to be on specific steps of quests to do the same quests with people, which frustrates some. But as far as exploring the points of interest and PvP and such, you can group fine.

No you do not need to wait till lvl 50 to group. You can group up as soon as you get to the first main city. You will likely be lvl 1-3 at that point. There are certain quests that you have to complete solo. Such as some fighter and mages guild quests. You can be in a guild right away and talk in it whenever you like. The info you were given is false.

Once you hit level 50 you may enter the the other two factions homelands, that is where the confusion is, before that you must stay in your chosen alliance lands until you reach 50, hope that helps :)

And as an additional thought, you don't even need to group to socialize. In fact, I find most of my socialization occurs with people I meet in places. Two examples:

Last night I was working a quest involving a large group of enemies. I was working with a bow - because I wanted to raise my bow skills - and along comes a sword and shield DK (Dragonknight). We just hung out, killing the enemy for about an hour or so. I could have done it by myself, but working with someone else allowed me to do things I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

Another example: hanging out, waiting for an anchor, several of us started a band. Other players came up and joined in until we had quite the group going. It was fun and a nice change from the otherwise endless grind of quests and leveling.

To be honest, I have one or two good guilds and all the rest seem only interested in trading. Most of my "friends" I've met out wandering in Tamriel.
