You’re putting an awful lot of thaught into tanking for dungeons. That’s good I think.

Leeching is fantastic for keeping you alive. Hands down one of my favorite sets. The poison damage it does helps keep things aggro to you. It’s plenty enough.

Bahara’s Curse is a wacky set. It used to be bugged, maybe still is. The environmental trap damage thing also used to reduce AOE damage. Anyways it’s not bad, but somewhat overkill at this point in the game. And I did find it very hard to find pieces in heavy armor. Maybe it’s easier on PC?

For pugging dungeons, I’d probably go Leeching and Plague Doctor. Because, let’s face it: pugs are usually bad. Any of this nifty group buff things are likely gonna be a waste of your time.

Leeching will keep you alive and plague Doctor will give you the buffer you need to raise the dead over and over again.

Never forget your number one job as a tank. Hold the boss and priority mobs. Everything else is fluff.

If you want to buff the group, I’d recommend Yolnahkrin/Olorime/Sentinel or maybe Nightflame.

For sustain, you might consider using the S/B Ult and throw in some heavy attacks when you need. You shouldn’t have a problem. Backbar soul harvest maybe. Again, with the pug thing, your warhorn is likely gonna be a waste. You want to build for survival. Survive the pugs

I made a NB tank build that focuses on selfsustain and i would love some input from you guys. This is the first build ive ever come up with on my own. What inspired me was the curiosity to try out an other class than DK for veteran dungeon tanking.

    1. Did i miss anything crucial in my build?
    2. Could this work - yes - and if not - why not?

Curious to what you guys think :)

Leeching and barahas are not useful. Use ebon and maybe torugs.

    Go nord intead of imp

    BS is good.

    Silver leesh is good

Drop meditate, go vamp, and slot ult gen vamp drain. Jewelry traits changed to infused with pot cd enchants for max uptime on catalyst passive.
With these 2 changes along with going nord you will enjoy the highest warhorn uptime of any tank. Vamp negatives are entirely manageable.

Frost path is good but make sure torugs and crusher enchant are on that bar.

Blur is situational, consider it a flex spot. Power extraction is a better option next patch as a siphoning skill you can throw out every 4 seconds and provides a unique mob debuff unavailable to other tanks.

Remember, you want to have access to a usable cheap siphoning skill you can throw out every 4 seconds (siphoning attacks is not that) to maximize ult gen via the transfer passive.

NB tanks are absolutely not gone and absolutely can function up to vet trials.

Appriciate the input. Thank you very much. I had to google catalyst passive, didnt really know it was a thing. Do you think sustain will be an issue on a build like this?

None whatsoever, you just need to know fights and understand when you are free to fit in heavies. Aim for 40khp/19k/20k ish. Use whichever morph of siphoning attacks adheres to your lower stat pool so orbs and shards will feed the other stat pool.

Tri pots for meaningful, difficult content, trash pots for everything else.

Remember dont over use dark cloak, having up 100 percent of the time is not really necessary. Treat it as a buff you throw up when you are about to block a tank buster. For moments when your healer is down or whatever, and you aremt taking have bursts of damage, cloak plus drain will keel you from dying most of the time in vet dlc dungeons.

One thing i forgot to mention is that the recent change to mass hysteria has sort of turned the skill into a decent aoe mob control for trash pulls (frost wall is hit or miss with its cc component). The new fear keeps mobs in place and targets most in the radius.

You have a lot of freedom between inner fire morphs, siphoning strikes morph and heavy destro and snb attacks so you can really balance your sustain without issue.
