Do you play Magica or Stamina and why? What are your advantages and disadvangages?

I play stamina....

I play stamina because my bar for roll dodge, break free and running is the same as my skill bar...that means I only have to worry about mostly one resource and do away with the the other one..

It's simple and clean...

I hate magica because

#1 ranged battle...
2. 2h staff
3. roll dodge, break free, running doesn't consume my magica.
4. No melee magica
5. boring
6. it's just painful to use..
7. Magica Vicious Ophidian is hidden behind a paywall...
8. I hate magica
9. No conjuration
10. The only time I would ever play magica would be a healer...
11. I loved making dumb magica in oblivion...I loved conjuring in skyrim...(I swear it still let me use my dual wield tree or something)
12. No such thing as a battle mage...no matter what.. since they won't let one decide what they want to restore when heavy attacking...
13. This should have been #1 ... MAGICA COST TOO DAMN MUCH!!!

The one where I put I play magica, stamina or hyhbrid on different characters is so that you have a choice..but what do you play the most and like...
It's a no brainer to be magica in some classes and stamina in another...

magicka is more fun and entertaining.

gets nerfed into the dirt constantly while stam gets the god treatment, patch after patch after patch after patch though. it really sucks to be a mag main. Not saying I always want to be on top. but if you're going to endlessly nerf one thing and endlessly buff the other, you have to stop eventually.

I play mag, mainly magplar

Reason being. I have to take you back to 2014 craglorn.

I leveled up to vr ranks as a bow/ two hander stamplar. I liked the bow as main damage. I didn't understand the damn game, vigor was non existant. Only way to heal as stamplar was two hander.
I finished all of cadwells, and headed to craglorn. I hit a brick *** wall.

I couldn't solo anything anymore, no one wanted to group. I heard that magplar and puncturing sweeps spam was at the time the best soloer in the game. Before any other class had good damage based healing. And it worked. I was able to solo most content or duo most content. I used him to duo shadas tear with a magblade back when it was mostly too hard for four man groups.

I didn't look back at stamina after that, I've tried it here and there but I am not impressed.

As for how I personally deal with stamina regen as a magplar, I run deep thoughts. It's truly amazing. ...

Let me guess you jump up and down stacking shields?

How can you like the 2h staff? I HATE it!!

I play stam because mag tends to hit like a wet noodle. The free 10k+ dps you get from relequen is just too much to ignore imo.

I use all types of build for all sorts of reasons:

Stam builds, because why not? I find stam builds to be the strongest. I have a stam DK, stam sorc, and stam templar. On all of these chars I use weird builds to mess with people's heads, even though that gets me killed often

My favorite stam char was my healing stam sorc, but it looks like ZOS is taking aim at it... I use these chars in PvE to tank usually.

Magicka builds Have a mag templar, mag DK, mag warden, and mag sorc. I mostly use these characters to heal. None of them slot shields because I find them a waste of time. I also use these in PvP and they are mostly for builds that offer support or healing. I find magicka to be below stam in PvP, no, you could say downright inferior since 4 patches ago. However, I still make it work and have use for them. They also use wery unique builds to mess with people's heads.

Hybrid I only have a hybrid templar and hybrid DK, both of which are non-Pelenials hybrids and are "magicka" DPS chars sometimes. I use both of these the most. The reason is because they are capable of things you cannot usually do in PvP and make a better overall experience for me. The hybrids seem to be very effective vs. cheese builds and zergs attacks, and thanks to their hybrid nature see little impact from the ZOS nerf gun in PvP. I have also completed vMA on one of those hybrids yesterday...

Scratch hybrid. Got some stamina characters, some magicka characters. Depends on the build and how I wanna play. Overall I think Magicka can be a lot of fun...but I also like Stamina. It's a tie, I vote for both.

Everything I can, and I'm enjoying it all.

- Templar healer: when solo, it tends to be at melee range (due to all the AoE + sweeps). Certainly feels like "melee magic" to me. I completely fail to understand some people's hate-on for staves. Staves can be quite effective melee weapons too, in RL, if that makes you feel better (it doesn't, I guess).

- Stamina warden, sorc (also WW), and recently necro. Good times, though the WW transform may be shelved for a bit. Working on a nightblade, too.

- Zoo sorc, probably soon to be less good times, but enjoying it for now. Maybe I'll go without pets for dungeons and see what happens.

- DK and necro tanks. Solo isn't great, even with dedicated gear/skills for it, so I tend to take these along to guild skyshard runs. But tanking is fun.

Why do all this stuff? I enjoy it all, I like starting new characters, and it lowers the chance of being disappointed at any given drop, or crushed by a given ZOS change. I had Maat's Cap in FFXI, and though I'm trying to play ESO a lot less than I did that game, I can't imagine just doing one thing. I bought the whole game.

Melee in high lag and low frames is essentially a waste of time. Skills like Puncturing strikes are just as bad.

I played stamina dps, magicka dps, tank and healer on my nightblade. I prefer stamina over magicka because...well, magicka is easy mode from a distance while I love to get up close and personal. Nothing says "I love your loot" more then a dagger between the ribs.

I just love my MageBlade.

1. My main spammable is also a heal
2. INVISIBILITY 4 EVER
3. Swift rings + concealed weapon + rapids + cloak = fast resource harvesting without having to run around NPCS and just run through the danger w/o agro
4. Swift in-and-out daily routine. Need to do a delve daily quest? Don't want to kill or agro anything...GOOD! No need to as a Mageblade! You can run in and out without agroing a single add.

Plus more but I am at work.

Stamsorc, magplar, magblade, magcro, stamcro, magden, stamden, hybrid dk pve tank, hybrid dk for pvp. They all get played on a fairly regular rotation. Only thing I'd like are more mag melee options for the non-templar builds. Not mag weapons per-se but up close and personal mag abilities.

There are many things I love and hate about both setups. The main reason I play magicka it's probably because what I started with, what I'm best at, what I'm used to and what all my strongest characters are setup to use. With that said I never have a problem with running out of stamina to break free or dodge roll in trials, in vMA I only come across problems when I run and since I stopped doing that I've never had a problem and I don't usually play PvP outside battlegrounds in which I also don't usually have this problem.

The things I like best about magicka are the shields which are very useful in many circumstances especially in solo situations, being ranged is also very nice because I can't stand being in the boss's face all the time and having that space in between us just gives me a better idea of what's going on and stops me from worrying about certain attacks, the self heal is also usually better, I can be constantly dealing damage without having to walk from enemy to enemy and I do think the staff looks pretty cool although I often wish I could get some dual wield going on.

I've probably missed a few things but not much is coming to me right now other than that. The nicest thing about stamina is how fast they are but I am just as fast on my magblade because of twisting path.

personally i like playing stam more. (warden especially) more fun to play imo

I'll vote that just because I can. But the answer is actually Stamina.
I'm a stamina sorc. But I still use abilities like daedric prey, Greater Atronach, and Absorption field. And this character is also played as tank in dungeons.

I did all vet trial, and some HMs. With daedric prey slotted and used when the great atro is up. I even did some runs with a clannfear.

I love to use magicka on stamina builds and stamina on magicka builds.

Stamina looks cooler. They move faster, they're better at staying alive. That's it, maybe I would consider playing magicka if staves weren't so ugly. The abilities are nice, the choice of weapons is bad.

Always Magicka since day 6 after ESO came out, my first character was Dunmer Sorcerer. Since 2016 it's Altmer Nightblade, and my main. Despite some skills altered or even trashed through numerous game updates, still just as good and even stronger than before the currently last update, after altering a few things.
Often thought briefly to try out the Stamina side, but I like my Magicka NB and know him like my 5 fingers, prefer to stay in range in PvE anyway and he can be just as good a DD as a healer for group content (and when too lazy to dps, I prefer to go as a healer). And of course the cloak and range for PvP.

I play both magicka and stamina characters because different situations call for different characters.

Easy VMA farming = a few magnbs
My trials dd = stamden with War Machine
Pvp = 7 characters, a mixture of stamina and magicka to get transmute crystals also depends on what we're coming up against.

I have played both solo and small scale PvP and while I can be successful in both specs I just prefer the in your face, aggressive stam plastyle. Of all magicka classes I have the most fun playing magicka DK as it has some of that element followed by magicka Templar.
