i found few today, thanks, i was in wrong parts of Craglorn.

dont know if devs were not thinking clearly or being lazy to fix, we dont need that RNG, being so low just make players get fed up, as it was suppose to be enjoyable, not to create frustrations. it feel that wasnt nice.

Be glad the Nirncrux drop rate is what it is now, @Dracofyre.

Because when Craglorn debuted as a Zone, the drop rate was 50% lower than now ... and was only in the top half of the Zone above the ridgeline (Upper Craglorn).

In other words, the new kids have it on easy street now. ;)

In addition, there’s no weighted RNG between parts of the Zone. All equipment nodes have an equal chance of a nirncrux drop in the entire zone. Which incidentally has been my personal experience lately ... equal distribution between Upper and Lower.

Normally, I don’t contradict @SirAndy ... whom has good advice 99% of the time. But, weighted RNG nirn drops (based on geography) is a myth.

I could be mistaken, but I think the weighted drop rates isn't so much a myth as out-of-date. Originally, when nirncrux drops were added to Lower Craglorn, it was at a lower drop rate than upper. Though all of it was evened out at some point, maybe with One Tamriel.

Honestly, it's been years, and I haven't obsessed over Nirncrux since 2015, so I could be remembering this incorrectly.

    i usually spend 45min/1 hour there till i find 1 fortified,1 potent
i then log out and return next day and ,never had the reduced drop rate feeling-or increased
just do normal farming all over the map,no areas specific
    PC EU/NA /// PS4 EU/NA

Yes potent nirncrux (blacksmithing trait) has always been rare but the fortified (clothing trait) is easier to farm and cheaper to buy.

I got a few potent nirncrux from my gold event boxes when i did writs. Prior to that i farmed it back in the day but got tired of the grind.

Potent is for weapons (staves, bows, daggers, swords, axes, hammers)

Fortified is for armor (light, heavy, medium, shields)

Yesterday farmed all northen craglorn what I believe is upper craglorn that i noticed one day gave more nirncrux, I found plenty of nodes but just got one fortified nirncrux. I concluded is better to buy it when you find it cheap, less than 13k.
