People are developing gambling addictions/ Mental health problems at ridiculously young ages. (my countries healthcare have opened the first ever gambling clinic specifically for young people!)
I'm not against a game like Eso having a normal shop where you can buy cool appearance items with real money. But OP threw like £50/$60 approx on just a chance to get the item he wanted. It's that aspect of not knowing exactly what you're going to get, getting disappointed, and buying more crates until you finally get what you want which needs to go. I don't think they'll voluntarily remove it as it's a massive earner for them, so it needs to be boycotted until they remove it imo.PC EU12 -

Should be a good lesson though, don't waste your money on loot boxes. The best you can get is a nice mount which you will only be able to use for a decade more at most before the ESO servers are shut down. Instead, spend your money on something that is actually worth the money you spend it on. Maybe a new pair of headphones? Some speakers? A large amount of Doritos and mountain dew? I always assume I have to buy enough crates to get a ton of gems to then get one or two things I really want and never assume I'll actually pull something decent. I stay away from them most of the time. I agree with people who say it'd be great if they could just have a set price in crowns for everything instead of keeping the best stuff behind horribly-not-in-your-favor RNG.AD PC/NA0 -

So... you weren't just trying to get "A" mount, you were trying to get an APEX mount? APEX mounts (400 gem cost) only have around a 0.28% chance to drop from a crate. Not sure why you expected to get something that has less than a 1% drop rate from only 34 crates.
If you've gotten APEX mounts from only 34 crates in the past, then you have been very lucky. Sounds like RNGesus actually loves you a lot, he just didn't love you quite as much this time.
You DID get enough gems (404) to get ALL FOUR of the non-Apex mounts from the Fire Atronach crates. You could get the Senche Leopard, the Masked Bear, the Ice Wolf AND the Black Camel of Ill Omen... and still have 4 gems left over.

Sorry you feel that way, but it's OP's $$ just like it is my $$. I am an adult. I can spend my $$ however I may choose. What a person thinks is a "waste of money" is different person to person. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy crates. As for:

Any apex mount. Strictly speaking, the actual chances of getting the specific Apex mount you want is slightly lower with the flame crates, because there are 7 apex rewards, instead of only 6. (Or 8 instead of 7 if the sweet roll counts. Can't remember if that's Apex or Radiant.)0 -

Not necessarily true. The OP (or anyone) may not have gotten what they were hoping for, but they may have gotten other items they liked, and thus, would not necessarily be a "waste of money". It's in the eye of the beholder. There are also those that don't necessarily want a specific item but do enjoy the random aspect of the loot drop. Individual choice.4
