Will my MMR go down ?

My MMR is stupid high, i used to play a mag warden in BG's and ran all the cheese i could and came top of most games i played.
But now on the same toon i am trying a medium armour stam warden, and i suck. like really suck. But i'm still having to wait years for matches despite loosing a few and i'm still getting put against the same cheesy "tank em' till they quit" pre-mades.

So will my MMR adapt to my current more noob like performance?

Thanks

As far as I can tell, no. Your MMR increases, but it doesn't appear to ever decrease. So once you break into the top bracket, you're stuck there.

Well i had the exact problem with my magden. Always duo or solo and high mmr.
I did reroll him to a healer, the thing about healers is, that you can pump out 3 mio healing carry your team and still only get 1300 points in DM. So after like 2 months of regularly healing my MMR went down so much i was placed in cp200 -500 newbie BGs.

So yes MMR declines but you have to hit lowest score in the game over and over again.

MMR doesn’t go down, only goes up. Which is one of the many reasons why it’s a brokenly trash system that has ruined BG’s.
I can’t do BG’s anymore because almost all of my characters are in top brackets so even trying to que up just results in 15-30 minute que’s and fighting the sweatiest of premades with stacked pocket Breath spamming healers, stamdens, or fingerless pet sorcs.

been using the random battleground daily to level a group of characters...they're all still below level 50...

once I reach level 50 - will my mmr re-set for the level 50 and above battlegrounds?

I think it can go down, but I’m not sure. I leveled a character in BGs and dominated, got smashed once I hit 50. I either got better or my MMR went down, now I’m just bad when I pvp on that toon instead of horrible.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Nope. Your MMR remains from under 50.
So, if you're wrecking face in under 50, by time you get to real BG's, there's a good to great chance you are just going to be tossed in shark infested water.

I think the MMR vaccine protection is meant to be life long and not lower over time. But if you do get infected then the virus will have less effect on you.
Try not to stick around someone who’s infected, you’re resistant but not completely immune.
    Stay safe.

So once you break into the top bracket, you're stuck there.

Top bracket sounds like its something hard to achieve when in reality you get thrown in there after 10 games.

It's based on performance. You can get dumped there very quickly, or it can take awhile. You do run into people who are out of place as you're going up, but, then again, you're out of place as you're going up, so go figure.

It doesn't go down but you will eventually see different players because theirs will go up.

This is hilarious to read. You got one person, eye witness experience with their own character that describes what they did to make it go down and that it Does go down.

And then After that, lots of posts -'It can't go down', 'It never goes down', 'it can only go up, never down'

    I needed a good laugh

Where is this eye witness experience? Quote what you are talking about.

If you are referring to the player saying they re-rolled their character into a healer and then started getting a low score, this is not evidence.

I did the exact same thing last year and I did not get those results (damage NB turned into a healer).

This is one person's experience versus one person's experience. I would need something more to convince me it goes down.

So it is not hard evidence but I'm gladdened by your response as you have given me a good laugh as well. We all need some humor in our lives.

yeah, that may not work out so well battling it out in level 50 battlegrounds with some miss matched blue and purple cp10 gear...

I’m not sure how it works behind the scenes, but even if it cannot actually go down, everyone else’s is also going up, so in that sense yours can go down relative to other players. What I mean is, other players who are less skilled are joining your mmr bracket every day, and (unless you’re at the peak) many others are also leaving your bracket to go to a higher one.

MMR system is just pure silly. The higher you go, the more chance you will see pre-mades (as in 4 players literally stacked on top of one another in full heavy armour, spamming BoL, nox breath, DB and mages wrath so perfectly aligned, you are dead 5 seconds before you even see anything happening).

BGs are not well designed for long term game play. Once you get good at it, you will start getting absolutely wrecked by pre-made cheese after 30 minutes in queue. The only way to get out of it is to make a new char or just give up BGs for good.
