Can We Get Minor Incremental Bi-Monthly (Every 2 Weeks) Balance Updates Now?

I mean with all this standardization... It is insane that we couldn't start weekly or bimonthly combat balance updates instead of a bomb every 3 months.

Agree or Disagree that this is probably needed for proper balancing?

Didn’t they say at Quakecon that they were reworking the whole patching process—removing redundancies and lowering overall patch size? That’s not quite what you’re after, but it’s a step in the right direction if they ever decide to do faster incrementals.

lol bi weekly... you are a bit delusional im afraid about available and needed resources and prioritization

    a) lack of resources
    b) much harder to keep track of all the constant changes
    c) less time for testing and testing different things in conjunction

We would never get a grasp of what was going on if our builds changed every two weeks. It is bad enough that Zos typically does these heavy handed changes every three months for the past few years now but making it more often would be crazy.

Bi-weekly is a bit too much. That's not even enough time to get some proper data.
I do think that once every three months is not enough though. If ZOS ruins something it shouldn't take them 3 months AT BEST to fix it.

Can we just have patches that are well thought out? None of this ‘we’re going to roll out these changes then change the content to fit later.’

while they need to stop pushing fixes and class change ideas out to every DLC release, every 2 weeks is just to much expect. they do weekly maintenance which sometimes have game fixes/ class changes. I would like to see more in these maintenance patches vs the usual " we know such and such is broken and a fix will be implemented next DLC (which could be as long as 3 months)"

This is so true. Monthly is a happy medium, lets them do some changes, and have time to monitor it before they update again. Then we'd be less likely to have the troubles that console is experiencing right now where they don't want to pony up and fix a bashing glaring issue.

Problem is, I'm pretty sure their devs and higher ups aren't willing to bankroll and stick to a schedule that makes sense like that....

2 weeks is way too fast for changing how combat works. I think we should get updates every 2 months so we'd have 6 updates a year (up from 4), but they would lessen the gigantic 3 month downloads and fix more problems overall.

Even with the clarification of twice a month instead of bi-weekly, the maintenance work is enough. Content/gameplay should stay quarterly. Not to say that some of the more egregious mistakes shouldn't be fixed in the regular maintenance.

Pardon, but it is also impractical to anyone who doesn't have infinite data usage for their internet or slower internet in general. Which is a lot of people. Every update there are players in my guilds who can't play for several days because they can't download the update.

If the internet finally becomes the public utility it should have been set up as decades ago, maybe, MAYBE this will be reasonable.

I think ZOS realized this, big changes that come every 3 months can not be properly tested on PTS especially PVP part... If they could do some "balance" tweaks every few weeks it would be way batter then feeling like playing whole different game every 3months.. Majority of developers keep their game up to date and change things according to data and community response..

Even minor changes still require evaluation and testing for end-game players and score runners. You wouldn't believe how many hours I spent on PTS just testing vMA dw changes ... And it was just 1 thing out of many others.

I'd settle for a simple post every 2 weeks or every month...something like monthly Combat updates where a dev talks about what skills they're watching and what kinds of changes they'd like to make.
Seems like we had that for 2 months before it stopped before.

Right. But those who are serious about endgame on any level usually reroll their build to the next meta with ease due to the large amount of gold required.

And who do you thing brings this "meta"? It's not something that pops out of the blue. Many players dedicate a lot of time to come up with ideas and test new approaches etc. And it's not about gold, it's about time invested. I remember when "meta" was discovered like 2 weeks before the new update.
    Yes.
