Alchemy, is it worth leveling?

I am currently sat on level 23 in alchemy and was wondering if it is worth doing yet. Mainly because poisons are not in the game and there are no resistance buffs to the potions like there is in the single player game.

And with the looted potions often being the same level as the player my crafted ones always end up being weaker due to the level limits of level 3, level7, level 10,level 20, level 30, level 40, level 50. And their stats remain the same no matter what level my alchemy is.
I know I can add more than one effect to them, but is this really worth it, do high levels use potions in Cyrodiil or do players use them in dungeons?
Or do players just use the ones they find because they are better than the crafted ones?

Crafting potions can have 'combined stats'. Once you start making health potions that also restore your stamina and magic all on one nice cheap bottle. You will love that trade skill. Also with the passive that makes the potions give 20% more per potion.... Well, can turn a lot of battles around.

I cant wait to make potions that increase spell crit, an initial chunk of mana, and more mana over time. (If thats possible). Ive seen the ones with spell power instead of crit.

The ones that do spell power etc last 10 seconds, not really worth it when you could have a potion that gives you full health, full mana and full stamina in one bottle.

Spell crit + magicka now + magicka over time is brutal. With the +% potion duration you have 13s duration of the crit portion... with CD being 30s. I think there's jewelry enchant for pot duration as well as power (I have +33 pot power now).

Alchemy is something I really enjoy and I can safely say it is a really good proffesion. If you mix the correct ingrediance you can get a potion wich gives you Health, stamina and magicka with only one potion. Ok there arent the poison ones for wepons, but I think they will add it later on.

Pity you can't get a potion that improves spelling :(
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

I read somewhere that they will add poison potion in the future.
In the meantime I suggest everyone to level up in Alchemy because it is fun and also very very useful due to the fact that the passive bonus on potion effect is awesome.

I'm also a Nightblade so, with Siphoning's passive, the potion effect on me, combined with the one from alchemy tree, is amazing!

This is one reason I started to level it up as well as being part of my characters background.
I did watch a video where Paul Sage mentions that poisons will be added at a latter date.

Once you unlock the third ingredient, you can combine spell power, spell crit, and magicka (any magicka potions also restore magicka over time). By far my favourite potion type :)

Although magicka + health + stamina and weapon crit + weapon power + stamina are also fantastic.

Here's my super secret formulae ;)
Corn Flower, Lady's Smock and Water Hyacinth = Magicka Mastery Mixture (tm)
Blessed Thistle, Dragonthorn, Wormwood = Physical Prowess Philter (tm)

As a healer, I use a lot of mana potions in dungeons. It's hard to get enough from drops and sometimes there aren't ones of an appropriate level in any of the 4 guild stores I have access to. I suspect this may be more due to the poor design of the in-game trading system than the rarity of them, though. I seem to get loads of health and stam potions so people who don't rely on mana probably find themselves with an excess of the potions I need.

In case you're wondering, my healer is a lvl 21 Breton Templar with magicka and magicka regen stats raised up to the point of diminishing returns. Hoping the magicka issue will get better as I level and/or as players learn the dungeons and start to take less damage.

I use health potions occasionally on my other toons (dps and tank.)
