Questions about Character Builds for Beginners

Hello!

I was wondering what you would suggest for the following »builds« and if they are vailed in there specialization. Just the Class/Race/Attribute’s and weapons use.

To begin with Tank build -> Race: Nord – Class: Dragonknight? I assume most Attribute Points go into HP and some into Stamina? 3:1 ration? Using Shield + 1H weapon? Does the type matter?

Dps build -> Race Redguard- Class: Nightblade? Focus only on stamina? Using dual-wield + bow?
-> Race Altmer – Class: Sorc? Focus only on Magica, using Destruction Staffs and focus on pet build?

Healer build -> Race: Breton – Class: Templar? Focus only on Magica? Using Healing Staffs?

Do I have the right impression on how to build a character up? I admit skills are still a bit of trouble and I use some beginner’s guides to help me sort that out. The only class I don’t know on how to build is Warden. Was told it’s a Dps with Off-Tank ability but I have no clue on how that would look like. Would be nice thou if anyone of you had a build or alike for DK Tank Build is fairly nice and makes tanking seem easy but doing solo content is a pain … spend ages grinding a Boss down that had 1.2mil HP. At the start I didn’t even seen any movement. After killing it I just said to myself: “Never again!” I was never in danger of dying but the amount of time it took me to kill it was just way too much. So if there is a Warden build that could “tank” while dealing “solid” damage I would appreciate it! Keep in mind I’m a beginner and mainly look for normal play with the chance to build it up for the Vet. Dungeons/Trails and alike in the near future.

Best Regards, Lermond!

    I'd suggest you to check xynodegaming in YT , best for beginners and he explains each and every stuff from gear to skills to rotation in detail.
    Btw every class can build tank , healer, magica and stamina dps.
    For stamina
    Redgaurds , khajits , bosmer = sustain
    Orcs , Dunmer = damage
    Imperial = raw stats
    Nords = tankiness

    For magicka
    Altmer , Dunmer = damage
    Breton , khajit = sustain

    Now talking about tank you don't play solo content spec as tank keep an extra set of dps gear for that purpose.

    Also, there are two phases to the game, Leveling to L50 and or CP160 and anything past CP160.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
    Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

    This, race don't matter so much, class is more important, for an tank you want to be dragon knight. Warden also work well.
    However if you want an tank and an mage damage dealer and want an Nord and a Breton, well its pretty obvious :)

    First take your time and enjoy the game then join some nice guilds. They tend to do lots of group stuff and tend to be very helpful like crafting gear for you.
    Later on make more characters, once you reach cp160 you want to collect sets for builds. Alts might just be for storing stuff but leveling riding take half an year and having alts is nice during events and they will be useful later.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    You are definitely on the right track, and pretty much how the original trinity of tank, heals, 2 DPS was originally envisioned in this game if you ask me. But of course, you can tank heal or DPS with any class in this game.

    Races matter more to DPS than support roles, but all yours pass the smell test for sure.

    Dont focus so much on a specific role when leveling, however. Until you hit level 50 and get 160 CP under your belt, dont overthink it and dont blow a bunch of coin on gear, because you will out level it too fast to be worth it. Play, have fun, and try a bit of everything. When you hit CP 160, then worry about fitting your playstyle into a group role.
