New Content for Guilds (Thieves, DB, Fighter's)

While I'm enjoying the Season of the Dragon and I'm happy ZOS will be moving forward with more year long story arcs, I'm worried smaller scale stories could be a casualty of the year long strategy. In particular content like the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests, which I'd like to see more of. It's hard to imagine an entire year dedicated to one of these guilds with dungeons, chapters, etc. Yet there's so much more that could be done with guilds, new thieving mechanics such as knockout clubs, bows the put out lights, planting poison on an NPC via pickpocketing and other mechanics that could add overland variety. Since ESO takes place within an entire continent it also makes little contextual sense that we only have one location for these guilds. There should be more thieves dens (not just outlaw refugees but actual operations) and Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary's throughout Tamriel. This isn't a game that takes place in a single province like the mainline games so there should be more opportunities for our characters to continue these careers elsewhere...Or you know Elsweyr.

I'd love to see more guild content. I'd especially like a new type of thieves guild heist like a Manor burglary or bank job. Something that takes a little more skill and time, can be done solo and gives an enormous amount of gold and juicy items.

New chapter should have a few quest for the 4 main guild (mage, fighter, thievs and db)

This would also be welcomed, just add a handful of guild quests per chapter if they're high enough quality and well thought out with their own unique mechanics.

Would these improvements be rolled into it’s own DLC, @Fata1moose?

As you’re likely aware, the devs don’t usually work on free content ... especially if it’s quests.

It’s a good idea. But, you’ll have to figure out a way for the devs being rewarded for their time.

I would be very surprised if they didn't add new stuff to the guilds at some point. It's prime real estate for them to add more story with character personalities and motivations already in place.

Just add them to the zone as a quest line included in the dlc

It'd be cool if they gave DB and TG like one active ability. Like TG gets muffle.

Yeah in this case they would be included in the chpater you're purchasing, if not stand alone DLC. I still think stand alone DB and Thieves Guild Sequel DLCs would be ideal. Where they could focus on the guilds again in different locations.

I wish there was a DLC that added more guild story to ALL the guilds. Yes, also the mages guild.

Just adding a bit of plot to all the DLCs and expansions since... get a questline at any Mages- & Fighters-guildhall, or in the TG hideout and DB sanctuary if completed those... sending you over the new regions to follow that story and see what the guilds have been up to there since their old questlines... and possibly even unlocking new dailies once that's completed!

Sounds good to me. At the very least a single ability, could be a skill, or an ultimate... BtW, Undaunted also could use some ultimate ability, just sayin.

Both the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are thematically tailored to a single profession. Nightblade.

Worse, they're mechanically tailored to that profession. Only nightblades can stealth and their speed bonus while stealthed is not insignificant.

With assassination speed is paramount because the aim of the game is to put yourself in the right position at the right time to nail your target while all potential witnesses are either not there or at least not looking in that direction. In crowded spots it'll be the latter and every drop of speed helps.

With thieving there are the same considerations but also other players to take into account because you can be competing for the same targets. In that instance nightblades have the edge.

Had this content been popular you could bet they'd have made more, but they didn't. One of the reasons would be this. Yes it's possible for other classes to do this content but when faced with a glaring class imbalance many just wouldn't.

Even the playing field and maybe you'd get more players doing this content. Then the devs might see demand and by extension profit in making more.

I would like to see more content added to existing areas in general, not just to guilds which is a good idea.

Example: SOOOOO hyped with release of Morrowind. Drooled when set foot in Seda Neen again. But Balmora seemed so empty! All the houses were chained. Tombs all across Vvardenfell inaccessible. Same with other chapters.

So much they can open up to make the world feel more real and interesting in old areas and with guilds lines.

And yet, strangely enough, I have done TG with a templar and DB with a stamsorc... who for some wierd reasons had no trouble stealthing their way through missions...

In fact, it sometimes even is better if you -don't- have the option of going invisible on the fly, as then you have more incentive not to get sloppy and pay more attention to the guards patrol routes!

    ...

That having been said, I really resent those DLCs for forcing people to take the "criminal" route! I so wish they would have gioven us -two- different questline options for them, one the one we got, and the other... a "goody two-greaves" option to play through the same story from the other side! Join the Iron Wheel and fight against overzealous guards and corruption within the ranks while stumbling over that sketchy merchant princes dark secret... or join the order of the hour and spread the glory of Akatosh while opposing the dastardly murderers until you realize that there are some skeletons in the closet of pirates and priests alike...

    Alas. Paths not taken.

Great Idea right here. With some additional reward at completion. Would also help to sell the existing DLC

Would love to see them add a new guild of "treasure hunter rouge" types (maybe something like the new group in the thieves guild in Elswyr that isn't doing anything yet), that focus on scouring the whole of Tamriel, seeking out long lost artifacts.

It's main feature could be the utilization of the "grasping vine" mechanic that you can use with the "lava rock" emote once gained through a quest in Murkmire. (Or create another "basegame" mission that rewards the emote.)

The devs wouldn't even need to create "new" delves, zones or anything. They could just use existing delve, cave and overland, etc. assets. Add some backstory/lore, a bunch of missions and revise landscape where needed to create the platforming sections to complete the mission of retrieving the artifact.

Overland forest/trees areas, could have the plants added up in the treeline branches; for the delves/caves, they could use existing ledges and rock formations (or add some) that would be used for reaching the goals in the upper "currently unused" spaces, etc.

It would just be nice to have a meaningful reason to "go back" to many of the areas of the map that we may not have seen or been to in a while! Having an adventure/treasure hunting guild that required (or used) a mechanic to reach previously untapped (out of reach) areas in previous zones would breathe new life in those areas and zones. Would also be neat to see some of these areas from a new perspective that were unobtainable beforehand.
